    If you have fair skin then Fake Bake either mousse/ lotion/ spray is the best or St Tropez mousse or spray

    If you have darker skin then the St Tropez lotion is the best

    Build up I've only ever used Johnson's holiday skin and I didn't like it on me BUT it seems to work really well on everyone else I know that tried it.

    I used to use the Johnson's stuff but now I use the L'Oreal self spray (comes in spray cans) as the Johnson's stuff left marks all over my towels and smelled a bit funny throughout the day. You can get L'Oreal as 2 separate sprays (one for the body and separate spray for your face). I put it on after I shower and after a few days/week of build up it gives a lovely natural looking tan. Always makes my face look nice and healthy too.

    Fake bake is the better of the tans imo...I am very fair and it was natural.

    I have had great results with garnier summer body for the build up. Lovely and natural...it is a personal thing though!

    For building up I have found the Garnier one good too, far better than the Johnsons and Dove

    I have also used the spray ones (Loreal)? that petal mentioned and their very good too, especially the face one.

    Johnson's Holiday Skin works well for me - but my skin is olive ans the colour of the darker one suits me.

    For instant taning i have a lancome aerosol. It's supposed to only be for legs but i have used it on arms too with great results. It lasts a day or 2 as well. Lancome used to do the best build up one as well but they fookers (sic) discontinued it sadly. i have quite olive skin.

    I can't recommend highly enough He-Shi fake tan. It's a liquid tan that goes on instantly. The colour also develops. It doesn't have the usual horrid smell of fake tans. I bought it from a local hairdressers (not so strange as they also sell Dermalogica, Bumble and Bumble etc). It dries so quickly that you can apply it before going out. It really is great.

    It is about £20 a bottle. Link below;
