false lashes??

michellejrs, 13 August, 2012 at 16:31 Posted on Planning 0 15

To wear or not to wear?

I've bought eyelure individual lashes so they look more natural but not sure whether to wear them. Is anyone else wearing falsies? x

I want them to thicken my lashes rather than lengthen. Want them to still look natural though.

My MUA has advised against though...

I'm going to use some of the Girls Alould lashes as they have 5 different styles to suit. I did want the 'permanent' false lashes but my fiancé isnt keen. '

I had semi permanent ones for the wedding, they were amazing and meant I didn't get any mascara streaks!

I personally wouldn't put them on myself, but that's only because I am rubbish at applying them and they always seem to fall off, or slightly peel up at the inner corners at some point, and I don't want the stress of it on the day. So I am having semi-permanent ones put on...slightly more expensive, but they do last a few weeks, so well worth it. x

I had semi permanent ones done - I find it strange that your make up artist has advised against? Get a trial done first to see how you like them. I have quite long eyelashes so I wanted mine to thicken as well.

They were a great job, especially on honeymoon! I went for the natural make up look:

Yeah I've had the semi permanent ones before, both the weekend (party) ones and the longer wearing ones that last a few weeks and you get back filled. i'm going to go for the longer wearing ones to hopefully last for the honeymoon also.

The girls aloud ones are ok for a night out, but you do have the risk of them coming away around the edges or putting them on wonky. If going for stick ons I would highly recommend MAC false lashes, and if you go to the shop / counter the girls will recommend the best ones for the look you're after and show you how to apply them.

I think my MUA (who also happens to be my cousin who works for Clinique) has tried to put me off them as she doesn't know how to put them on! Clinique don't do them you see, and whilst she is fantastic at eye make-up, it's me who has shown her how to put on false lashes in the past. I think she just prefers the natural look.

I wouldn't apply them yourself, mainly because of the risk of them falling off/being wonky ect... Maybe ask a local beauty salon their advice?? x

My MUA applied some lash inserts at my trial, just to see what I thought. I really liked them, and she only added on a few at the edges, so it still looked quite natural. Mine were only temporary so just come off when you take the makeup off.

I got semi- perm ones and thought they were AMAZING. Had a fear that falsies may fall off during the day. My MUA recommended them.

Plus they lasted throughout the honeymoon so looked good on the beach and in the sea!

I use the eyelure individual lashes quite regularly but I wouldn't have used them on my wedding day. The glue is not very strong and the odd one will often come loose.

I would either go for professionally applied semi-permanent lashes (quite pricey but definitely worth it) or I can highly recommend MAC strip lashes if you wanted the cheaper DIY option, they don't look drag-queeny like some strip lashes do and fit really well. I wore then for my wedding day and they were perfectly comfortable and didn't come loose at the sides.

Me three! Groupon had a deal for £24 and they were great. Plus they looked great on honeymoon and I didn't have to worry about mascara Smiley smile

I would steer clear of your standard falsies for something as important as your wedding, you don't want one falling off during the day. I will be having extensions put in by my MOH who is a fully quaified and experienced beautician, but if I was paying they would only be £45 anyway. They last 2-4 weeks before needing infills (everyone is different.) They look absolutely stunning, and you can have different styles, lengths, shapes etc to achieve the look you want. Plus no mascara needed which is perfect for the honeymoon too!

Definitely worth the money, just please make sure to use a reputable beautician and not someone who hasn't trained properly.
