My friend who lives a few doors up has been going through a horrid year. police raided them in middle of night and arrested other half. after 10 months went to trial and found guilty, and given 6 years (all not true and fixed up, but he is Dutch so was easy to pin to him).
around end March asked if I had by any chance seen her engagement ring, as got lost in past couple days. she had been round with us and playing in garden with our little ones. although we looked, we found nothing.
yesterday my H was playing in garden with R, and found the ring! in the gravelled area around the veg patch - so totally unexpected!
saw her this morning and gave it back - she just burst into tears. so glad to be able to make someones day (or even week/month) and know how much it means to her.
