Fao 2013 brides

cozmiceye, 29 January, 2012 at 20:36 Posted on Planning 0 11

Good evening ladies,

Well i get married next year? and so far people are still telling me that its ages away, My parents dont really seem interested,Tried to talk to them but keep getting told they havent discussed it. One of my bridesmaids(My BF) hasnt even mentioned it since i asked her to be one. My head is battered. ☹️ Is this normal?

So far i have Venue booked and deposit paid, Car deposit paid, Registar provisionally booked,Rings chosen, awaiting sample for Invitations. Trying to sort out music.

Is there anyting i should be doing or have i done too much already.

TIA x

Honestly I'd say yes this is normal. I found the same thing when we had 18months ish still to go. Some people still saying to us you've got ages yet. It's understandable really because whilst the wedding plans are probably pretty much all you can think about, other people have their own lives and your wedding isn't quite so important to them.

In terms of what you've got sorted, I'd say for the stage you're at you're doing pretty well but one thing you're missing there which I'd advise to get sorted next is the photographer, they can get booked up really fast, especially for the summer..

    Hi Tia,

Don't worry I am in the same boat as I am not getting married until 3rd August 2013. I have already paid deposit for venue, chair covers and paid for the registrars attendance. I have also bought ring cushions as having two page boys and three flower girls bags. I have chose my cake too! I have secured 2011/2012 prices for booking early so there is benefits.

Go at your own pace and enjoy every minute of it.

Yes it is normal, it certainly is for me, were getting married sept 2013 and although we get asked how our planning is going every so often there seems to be a lack of excitement. we have booked the church and reception venue, last month we knew the church and hotel we wanted so we didn't want to wait incase it got booked up and glad we did as aug and oct were totaly booked they only had the 7th sept left and were already taking 2014 bookings!! our 3rd most important thing is the tog, so thats the next thing to be booked, hopefully in the next few months. i am finding the lack of intrest from 1 of my bm's quite stressfull as it is making me question if she really wants to be involved (i quess time will tell)

I think it might be worth taking a brake from the planning for a while as you don't want to be left with a year of waiting and nothing to do!

Hi emze2011, I feel the same and my OHmis getting to the point were we should just tell her not to bother but ive said we will wait till beginning of next year and see if she changes.

I'm not sure i can do nothing for a year but i do need to calm down ? x

Well, I think it's normal. The only thing other people have been interested in is that we've chosen a venue. My mom always asks how planning is going, but she's a mom. My MOH is desperately bored at work all the time, so enjoys my emails with all the details I'm considering, but otherwise most people don't really care at the moment.

Except for our stag/hen vegas trip later this year. Everyone's super excited, working out things to do and places to stay, but that's because it's basically everyone's vacation Smiley smile

Understandably other people don't seem to find my wedding as interesting as I do, even though I talk about it as though it's the next royal wedding. But people do ask me about it a fair amount, and I have a friend who's getting married 3 weeks before me so I always go to her if I want someone to get excited. Now it's next year rather than the year after next, it does make it seem a lot sooner.

We are 29th June 2013 and have quite a lot of things booked so far as we went to a load of wedding fairs and suppliers were offering 2011 prices if we booked with them by the following week. So far we have booked: Church, venue, caterer, DJ, Bar, Florist, Photographer, cars and bought rings and Save the Dates.

A lot of people (especially family) are quite ecited about our wedding but I think it is because we haven't had a lot of weddings lately.

I'm August next year and I've booked, TOG, church, Venue, cars, invites hand made, shoes bought and gemmed up, grooms party suits all paid for, favours sorted, centerpieces pretty much done, bridesmaids gifts, mother or the bride presents done, just going to order the best man and usher stuff soon.

Only really have to organise now, my dress and the BM's dresses and shoes!

Natural and organic themed weddings will remain a popular choice for brides.
