To a certain extent you can.

As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "No-one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Get the suit AJ - it's as important for you to feel good on your big day as it is your OH. I am sure if you asked your OH she would agree and want you to feel good about yourself too.

Even if you only wear the suit 4 more times thats only £20 a wear - bargin! I bought a made to measure suit two years ago and it's amazing! It cost a bit more than I usually spend on clothing but whenever I wear it it makes me feel fab and I get tons of complements. (I don't wear a suit day to day in my job either only for important meetings - so two years on the suit still looks good!)

Just buy the thing and see it as an investment!

The cheaper one has been ordered and should be here in a few days; its the £750 one I can't get as already discussed as we just can't stretch the budget that much, unfortunately.

Whilst BespokeTailor's suit was indeed very nice, I don't generally feel confident about myself and the way I look 99% of the time anyway, and the suit is after all only an outer covering - it's what's inside that my b2b loves and is marrying, not an expensive suit, and I'm sure she'd still marry me if I turned up wearing nothing but Tesco carrier bags although perhaps the photos may not be quite so nice at the end of it. The £100 will be perfectly adequate, besides I don't think one could be made in time even if I won the lottery tonight.

It's not just you ladies that have "body issues" - men suffer it too but it's in some ways harder for us to talk about particularly amongst friends.

Bloody hell! Well done Smiley laugh

I saw the suit AJ! It's very dapper even on the stand Smiley smile Marc said the 3-piece suits are very flattering on men of any shape or size and I think if you were to go for it, that would definitely rank up there as one to pick! My OH is very shy and underconfident about his body because he's slim (he says skinny) and he thinks this isn't very manly. He was scared about the suit fitting (and he'll kill me if he knows I've flashed him on here!!) because he thought everything would hang off him but it's amazing how great a well fitting suit looks. I know we never look at ourselves the way other people do and I'm glad you can see Mrs AJ loves you irrespective of the 'packaging'.

I misread it - sorry, thought it was the £100 one you were dithering about. I agree £750 is a lot, but you will wear it again! Brides spend that on a dress and don't wear it again. But if you don't have the money then there's nothing you can do.

Obviously your OH loves you and wants to marry you whatever you wear - I am not disputing that. I just think that if you think you look good, you feel good and that in turn gives you confidence. And if you think you look good, others tend to believe you and think the same. On a day when all eyes are on you you need all the confidence you can get.

I am sure whatever AJ decides to wear both he and his B2B will have a wonderful day.

I think this is the budget alternative we've ordered: http://www.shoetailor.com/shop/product/details/show.action?pdLpUid=JI554&pdBoUid=3170&lpgUid=11117793&affinity=true#colour:1079,size:54R

With this waistcoat https://www.dobell.co.uk/racing-green-poly-dupion-waistcoat and a tie to match the waistcoat.

Plus an ivory shirt from BespokeTailor.

Shoes, cheap and simple, black size 10.

Not quite as flash as the one above but it'll do Smiley smile

I can only hope that is Mr Spangles in your avatar. ?

You are more than welcome to come down with him and he can try some suits on in anticipation of said commission. It would be my pleasure to host both Spangles.

*sigh* if only Brian was Mr S. The fun I could have with that beard! Just for Men, glitter & ribbon!

I will mention it to him - he needs some nice new suits and he's a huge cufflink fiend.

I love a cufflink too! Check these out: https://www.clothing-for-men.com/Britton_Bespoke_designer_Cufflinks.htm

The ones at the bottom of the page are some of the most unique cufflinks I have ever seen.

    (I have several pairs ? )
