Hi I know you are both Notts brides.

Autumunum - did you find someone to take your decorations down at the end of the night?

Curley - have you found any nice large halls?

Thanks guys.

No I didn't. We are getting married in Scotland so we were looking for somewhere nice (and cheap) for our reception party when we get home but really struggling! Have you found anywhere yet? Springfield Hall looks lovely but is too far for us. I've only seen it on the Internet though. We are in mansfield so looking for somewhere closer to us. The John Godber Centre in Hucknall looks quite big aswell.

Let me know if you find anything

    Hi Curley,

I'm still looking - we need to be able to seat about 200 fo a semi-formal meal. What size venue do you need?

Need to be able to seat around a 80/90. Will be having a hog roast and buffet I think so very informal. Where abouts in Notts are you? I will have a think for you

I'm just outside the city - near woodthorpe/mapperly.

Have you looked at worksop town hall? It's not big enough for me - I'm considering retford town hall but would prefer closer if poss.

Hi, I've not been to see retford yet but I did attend a conference there a number of years ago and I remember it being impressive. They are both stunning buildings and I googled extra images. I only have prices for Retford but as they are both with the same council I imagine they will be similar. The venue is available from 9am to midnight. There is a pay bar and last orders are 11.30pm but you can get a 1hour bar extension for £70, which would mean you would vacate by 1am. If you want to put wine on the tables you can pay corkage at £3.50 per bottle. If you need use of the kitchen that is an extra £50. Now for the biggie - I hope you are sitting down - the room hire is a massive £275? Honestly that's not a typo!!!! Room hire includes tables and chairs (extra for round tables for some reason). No crockery, table linen included but they give you the number of a woman who hires this out. I don't need her as I'm just about to launch a similar hire business ( idea came to me during this planning process), so I can't tell you what her prices/terms are.

Let me know if you go to see it and how you get on. Also would appreciate any other ideas you have. The West Bridgford one is no good as they don't allow you to supply your own wine for the tables and the major problem is your event has to finish at 11pm and both mine and OH's families and our friends are mad for a party.
