Hiya.

Just seen your table plan on the stationary thread. Did you have 30 people sat at a long oval table?? This is what I am having too and wondered if I could just ask...

How was it? I'm worried that it maybe awkward having everyone at one big table. Where did you seat yourselves? In the middle length ways or at one end?? and how did you seat your immediate family?

Hope thats not too many questions!

Thanks xx

    Hi,

We only had 30 guests and wanted to make it quite an intimate affair with everyone sitting together. Thankfully the venue was able to do this and we were really pleased as it worked out soooo well!

Our venue said that the B&G normally sit along the long side in the middle but we found that sitting at the top of the table worked better for us as we could then see everyone. Doing it the other way meant that the people to the left and right, probably family, we wouldnt be able to see and then if we sat them on the opposite side we would have to talk rather loudly over the table so H and I sat at the top and then tried to adopt a boy/girl sitting arrangement so I sat next to H and my Dad, my mom was next, nephew, aunt, uncle etc. H sat with me on his right and then his mom on left, then his Dad and so on.

I really liked the fact that being at the head of the table meant that we could see everyone, ok so we couldnt talk to everyone as it was too far but you could make eye contact even with the people at the far end.

I say go for it! We felt that individual tables would look a bit lost due to the numbers.

Oh and if you do decide to go for the oval table get Mrs Kitty to do your plan - she's a dab hand...oh and very talented! Even my H said so who isnt impressed easily!

Thanks so much for your reply. Its been on my mind for a while but I think it will work now! I def agree with you about sitting at the top end. Going to have a word with the venue first and see exactly how it will be set out!!

    Cant wait!! thanks!!
