Hi there!

Hope you don't mind but we chatted about your honeymoon to the Shandrani yesterday & me & H2B are now seriously considering this one. Just wanted to ask a few extra q's if you can help. Can you remember if you stayed in a deluxe room or a superior one? I'm not sure if its worth paying the extra cost for a deluxe. Is there any room location thats better than others that we should maybe request?

I noticed on some of the reviews on trip advisor that it suggests booking the restaurants before you get there as they get booked up, did you find this was the case?

Was the snorkelling good?

Thanks so much!!

    Hi

I've just dug out my emails from when we booked so I can answer your questions properly! We stayed in a superior room overlooking the sea (were on the second floor). It was lovely and big with a huge bathroom so I don't think you'd need the deluxe necessarily. The staff were lovely and the mini bar was updated twice a day and they come in to turn down your sheets at night too. The view was gorgeous, although if I could go again I think I would request a ground floor room. Although the balcony was big, the ground floor level walked straight out onto the gardens which looked devine!

We booked all of the restaurants while we were there, if we decided we wanted to eat somewhere in particular that evening we would take a wander down there during the day and put our name down - was never a problem for us.

I went snorkeling and there was loads to see, I loved it! We went on honeymoon 3 months after our wedding and we'd found out in between that I was expecting so I didn't get to go scuba diving (not allowed, I was gutted!), but H went 2 or 3 times and adored it. The sea was amazing! I would also thoroughly recommend the spa to treat yourself - the setting is beautiful.

    Thank you!

Thats great, how informative! I shall ask for a ground floor room definately. I had that feeling about the deluxe rooms, they just look to be a bit bigger, not necessarily posher.

I can't see your photos at work, but I'll definately have a look when I get home. I'm really excited - thanks!

Just out of interest, you mentioned emails. do you have an email address for beachcomber? I can't seem to find one on their website only a phone number. I can't ring them from work so its easier to do things via email IYSWIM. and I'm impatient. Thanks! I think they only open till 6 Smiley sad will have to try them on lunch otherwise.

I booked via Maxine at Travel Counsellors - they're independent Travel Agents. It meant we could set up a Honeymoon gift list account with them. She was very helpful!
