?

Hi date twin, I've not been around much recently but am fully back into WP mode now and thought I'd say hi and see how you were getting on? There were quite a few of us getting married on the 19th May but I cant see many around anymore. Its quite scary that in a few weeks we will only have 4 months to go, the time is flying by! Are you pretty organised? I see by your ticker you've got your hen weekend sorted - mine isnt Smiley sad Think I'm going to end up planning it myself or not having one!

My main priority just now is losing some weight before my first dress fitting, my dress came in last month but I want to wait as long as possible so I can shed some Christmas poundage!!

I am starting to stress a wee bit now though as I keep thinking of things that need doing that had been left until "next year" and now thats arrived I'm panicking!!

When are you sending your invites out? I'm making ours and so need to get started on that soon aswell - aaargh!!!

Hope your plans are all going well

    Hey celo ?

I did notice you back on OT, but not sure who other other twins are really. I can't quite believe that we're nearly at the 4 month mark. It doesn't seem quite right somehow. I thought I was quite organised with just loads of little things to do but over the last few days I've begun to doubt it all.

My CBM is organising my hen do, and has been for ages, bless her. I have no idea what that one entails! I've organised a work one, which is only 8 weeks away! Argh! It's a pyjama party at a posh hotel - I can give you details if you want (it's in doncaster - not that we're near there!) as it was really easy to organise

I'm on a diet at the moment too, which is rubbish, but I'm never happy with my weight so not sure what to aim for. When I last tried my dress on, the lady said that it didn't need altering, so I'm not too worried about that. I need to go with Mum and check I have everything though.

I've got meetings with the venue and vicar next week, and then I can hopefully finish my information sheets, get my invites written and sent off (once I have everyone's addresses that is, and children's names for OH's friends!). I'm planning to send these out end of Jan/beginning of Feb. I want to get most of my crafty/buying jobs done by the end of Feb and then I can have a break in March.

I'm currently on a rollercoaster of emotions - going from happy and excited to petrified - and wish I could just calm down. I feel a bit like a rabbit caught in the headlights at the moment

Your PJ party hen do sounds great fun, if you dont mind sending me some details that would be great thanks - I'm gathering ideas just now, have also looked into a pamper/spa weekend in the Lakes.

I know what you mean about the emotional rollercoaster, everyone is saying "oh you must be getting excited now", I think I am and then panic and wish I had longer! I'm terrified I'm going to forget something vital - only remembered today about giving notice in Feb; as we are in Scotland so can only do it 12-15 weeks before I had completely forgotten about it, it was only another post on WP that reminded me.

I wanted all the big things organised before Christmas so that I could relax but now its difficult to get motivated to sorting out the odd bits and pieces that got left.

I hope your meetings go okay next week with the vicar and your venue.

I'm here too!! I'm a date twin Smiley smile Not been around much cos I've been ignoring the fact that it's getting closer.

I've kick started my planning by booking my stage one hen do which is a week on sat but just cos my MOH is having a baby so I wanted her involved n didn't want to wait till she'd got too big (she's due 3 weeks before the wedding, not sure how I'm gonna sort her dress out now, typical!)

We're going to the Alton towers hotel in the sleepover room and having a day in the spa, but I will have another one closer to the time to include parents etc Smiley smile

Other than that I'm a bit stuck on the planning front

    things done

    venue booked

    registra booked

    photographer booked

    band booked

my dress bought ( want it cleaning though as it's an ex display one n who knows who's tried it on? n it's prob want altering too)

    guest list sorted

n that's it I think, best get my skates on - aaargh

Hello Sproggers! Where have you been hiding?

What I did the other day is go through the day step by step, writing everything down that I needed to do. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought, but made me remember some things that I'd forgotten

I had a quick look on the things to do list on here n the only 2 things we hadn't done were the formal suit hire, so am giving OH earache now cos surely that's not my responsibility lol and the guest list which we did there n then (took 2 days though trying to please everyone).

All being well going to see a lady about bridesmaids dresses tomorrow cos I'm stuck knowing how to dress my MOH with her being pregnant which she wont be by the wedding, I'm sure the lady will have a suggestion for that though but I've got a poorly child so not sure if I'll be able to go.

If I don't go I suppose it's a good time for me to do as you say and write everything down that still needs doing, which is LOADS!!!!!!

I am nervous now that I know it's this year though, I had my first wedding nightmare the other night, we'd done everything n the night before the wedding I realised we hadn't been back to the registry office n gone through the service or paid for it, which if I remember we have to do at least 6 weeks before the wedding, I somehow don't think that's one thing I will forget to do now.

Hi everyone, good to see a few more 19th May people around again. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Nursey, thank you for the hen do information, have managed to find something similar at a hotel in the Lakes so have booked that and am finally having a hen do - very excited ?

I was also inspired by peoples to-do lists and so ran through mine at the weekend, maybe a bit more to do than I first thought but not too bad -

    make and send out invitations

    make orders of service

make all other crafty type things; place cards, table names, table plan, thank you cards

nag my brother about my cake to find out what he is making me!

    hair and make-up trial

confirm details with all pre-booked people

confirm numbers and menu with caterers

    gifts for wedding party

    transport for guests

    dress fittings

finalise timings - obv need to do this soon so that can make the invites!

Feeling a bit more excited again today and OH finally admitted at the weekend that he is starting to get excited and looking forward to it now, before he has been annoyingly laid back and disinterested!

I wrote all of the day invites at the weekend so will send them out next weekend and I plan to construct and write the evening invites during the week when I get home from work.

Just cannot stop thinking about the day and the honeymoon....so excited!!

Glad you got it sorted... When's yours?

I'm really looking forward to mine

Had a mixed weekend really, I've sorted the ushers/best man pressies and decided to buy the confetti bits anyway and hope for the best. Then had a bit of bad news on Fri eve, which basically meant that one of my BMs might not have been able to make it to my hen do. Think I've sorted it now, but it might cost me more money ☹️

Its 21st/22nd April so gives me plenty of time after that to recover. I cant wait and knowing that it is only 3 months away makes the wedding seem even more real all of a sudden! OH stag still not sorted but thats not my problem!

Thats a shame about one of your BMs maybe not making the hen do but glad you've sorted it - although extra expense at this stage never a good thing but if it means she can be there it will be worth it. Well done on sorting pressies, what did you go for? I'm still not sure, was thinking engraved hip flasks or similar but keep changing my mind.

How did you get on with your venue meeting?

That's the same weekend as mine!

The venue meeting went well and clarified loads of things. She told me not to worry so much though ? My estimate has gone down by quite a bit as her and OH ganged up on me and we've decided to not have canapes

Easy for her to say, shes probably done this loads of times, you havent!!

I worry far too much about everything but am trying to appear outwardly calm! We havent decided on canapes or not yet, its a wait and see how much budget we have left before we decide.

My venue lady said that only one or two couples have had canapes in the last few years, so peoplewon't be expecting it
