Fark me - am I 2yo?

Campergirl, 25 November, 2008 at 12:32 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Memo circulated at work this morning:

As I am sure many of your are aware by reading the news and watching TV the annual Winter Vomiting bug is going around. We have had a few people in our office come down with this in the last week or so, and as a precaution I would ask you all to be extra vigilant by washing your hands etc.

My mantra is 'if they act like children, treat them like children'. I have to deal with a team of 13 people, aged 22 - 47. Mostly, they act like children.

Plus, Winter Vomiting does knock people down like ninepins, and spreads round a workplace like wildfire. So the more you can do to ward it off, the better.

I'm not - I go to weigh in at dudley sports center and have never seen anyone else wash their hands in the ladies there.

There are signs on the back of our toilets saying "excessive use off toilet roll will block toilets"

To be fair though they might be like me...?

If I wash my hands a lot especially during winter I get really sore eczema.

I use one of those spray foam things you just rub in - so you wouldn't see me washing my hands but I'm very sanitary I promise?

Ah, this reminds me of the "don't eat the peanuts from the bowl on the bar in the pub" ?

I'm sure I caught the Norovirus at the end of last year by using the toilets in a Frankie & Benny's. I washed my hands, but i'm betting that there were a heck of a lot of people that didn't. It was the only place that I went, and my SIL didn't. I came down with Norovirus less than 24hrs later, she was fine.

And the norovirus is grim grim grim. I had it a few years ago, and experienced some of the most unpleasant vomiting of my life.

Actually, this also reminds me of something my Mum was telling me a while ago. My Mum works in the path lab of a hospital. All patients are asked to use the alcohol hand gel when they come in. One day, woman comes in with 2 kids. My Mum asks that they all use the hand gel. The mother then shouts at the 2 kids that they can't use the hand gel, as they're eating chips. FFS, why would you eat chips in a path lab reception? They must have also brought the chips into the hospital specifically to eat in the waiting room.
