Fashion Advice Required!

sparklejunkie, 14 July, 2008 at 14:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me please? After a very unsuccessful shopping trip yesterday, I'm at a bit of a loss!

I've bought this gorgeous dress https://www.oasisfashion.com/womens/dresses for a wedding next month - what shoes would you suggest to go with it? I don't want anything too glitzy, maybe plain silver but can't find anything suitable in the shops I've been in so far (New Look, Schuh, TopShop, Faith). Or do you think something funkier in a colour would be better? I can't decide - all advice would be very welcome!!

I think a peep toe court would be really nice with that dress. Have you looked in Debenhams, Debut or Red Herring would be the best bet I think. Red Herring usually have some really nice peep toes that aren't too expensive.

I'm not sure, I think silver would perhaps be the easier choice - it'd need to be pale rather than a grey/silver I think.

They are very nice, but that style tends to be really uncomfortable on my hooves ;0)

they're lovely though - will see if i can see them in real life and try them, i may be being too hard on my feet!

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I was being unadventurous thinking silver, but I can't think what else would really go, without getting bogged down trying to do an exact shade match (which I think might be a bit frumpy)

https://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_19587_601782_-1 this is more the style I had in mind, they also have a pair of grey peep toes with a bow at the front but I'm not sure about the darker colour with that colour dress (which is lovely btw).

I'd probably take the dress along and try a few pairs on with it - see how they look. Those ivory ones i've posted are lovely but I think maybe they're a bit bridal looking.

there are some lovely green/blue ones on this page but the colour doesn't show when you click on them - that could work depending on the shade of the dress, y'know a few shades darker with the shoe IYSWIM

Ooh, those are lovely - me likey! Hmm, I think you're right, i'm going to have to take the dress shopping with me to check the colour against them.

it's so annoying, you'd have thought Oasis would have something suitable, seeing as I got the dress from there, but oh no! That would be far too easy!!

Thanks for all your help - you've been most helpful! (as have you, RuthG)

Absolutely! I'm such a wuss when it comes to shoes - i love a nice heel but if they're not really comfy I can't cope with them! Nowt worse than a nasty big toe blister, is there? ?
