We didn't have a father/daughter dance - IMO they are a bit twee, especially to things like my girl (sorry lizzyleek - sure it'll be fab for your friend)

we just made sure we had a boogie to something later in the evening, AFAIR it was to something from dirty dancing... ??

I often get asked to do a father/daughter dance.....and occasionally a mother/son dance too. The father daughter one is traditionally done imediately after the first dance. Personally, I find they are a really magic moment, ideal photo opportunity and do go down really well.

    Here's a few ideas:

Your Wedding Day - Jimmy Buckley (my favourite)

Butterfly kisses - Bob Carlisle (warning: rediculously long and awkward to cut short as it tells a story)

Slipping through my fingers - Abba

A Fathers Love - Joe Wodarek

Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion

Can You Feel the Love Tonight - Elton John

    Daddy Cool - Boney M

Dance with my Father - Luther Vandross
Have I Told You Lately - Van Morrisson or Rod Stewart
    Hero - Enrique Iglesias
Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder
    My Girl - Temptations
    Unforgettable - Nat King Cole
You are the Sunshine of my Life - Stevie Wonder
You are so Beautiful - Joe Cocker
You Raise Me Up - Westlife

Our 2 daughters both danced with my husband at their weddings, and he choose "Isn't she lovely" by Stevie Wonder. It was recorded the year our eldest was born so it was quite apt really.
