Father - Daughter "reveal"

MrsV-wasMissB, 21 August, 2015 at 17:15 Posted on Planning 0 9

Did anyone do one or does anyone plan to do one?

I hadn't planned to, I told my Dad to arrive at 12:30 and make his way upstairs. I assumed 'd be ready but busy and thus he'd just come in. But on the day when he arrived I was part way through getting my dress on and thought "oh itd be great for him to see me all done"! So my sister stalled him and I was waiting for him in the room. I've always been a Daddys girl and looking back I'm SO glad I did this, it was such a touching moment for us both.... we both cried and that set my Mum off!

Here is a little montage I did for my Instgram of that moment Smiley smile

If you hadn't considered this, I'd recommend giving your Daddy the first look Smiley smile

I adore first look pics with parents. I'm definately doing one with my OH and I've told him if he doesn't cry the weddings OFF lol.

As a wedding photographer I witness it a lot. It is a great moment and I absolutely love to be able photographing it. Always emotional and very special to father and his girl. Should happened at every wedding!

    Great photos.

    Smiley smile

The moment my Groom saw me was also very special! The TOG captured me looking at bursting point with tears when he clapped eyes on me and I saw his face! Here are the pics in order as they happeded.....

    I see him....

    he sees me...

I try helplessly not to cry whilst looking a bit gormless!!!

He smiles.. whether that's at me in general or my aweful "I must not cry" face I do not know....

my parents and I (either side of me) are clearly struggling to hold it together, Father In Law (left of Groom) finding it all rather funny! HAHA!

No, I mean he came out of the room to walk me in, but I walked over to the venue with my H so he got the 'first look'. I've said it before, but unless I was a new Jag or a particularly flashy piece of hi-fi equipment, my dad wouldn't ever be excited or emotional to see me. He just isn't that sort of person, and occasionally I wish he was, but on the whole we have a very understated relationship and that's okay.

Hmm my dad is getting more and more "emotional" as the years go by. We've always been close but like yours doesn't get over excited but "soft" stuff. Seeing me in a nice dress 5 yrs ago would of got "You look nice, wheres the bar?". Ha!

I think it's fine if it's natural - I was recently a bridesmaid at a wedding with the MOH stopping the father coming in as they weren't ready for the big moment (she was fully dressed just camera's weren't ready) - the dad was more dumbfounded he wasn't allowed to enter!

Can't say I had a big reveal to my dad he said you look nice and shall we go! lol
