I think I am going with wine charms - any that don't get taken I'll happily keep them. Also considering little net bundles of sugared almonds / choc to be put out with the evening buffet - but not one for each guest.

We didn't have individual favours as such, but when the coffee was served I got my neices to take to each table a box of Hotel Chocolat caramel sweethearts. Enough for 2 or 3 each, vast majority of them were eaten, and not at all fiddly. Plus only £6 per table.

We are having charity pins (breast cancer and pancreatic cancer) attached to the place name cards. In between counting table diamonds(see other thread) OH has designed them.

After trolling through hundreds of favour sites we have decided on a donation the the macmillian nurses. this is to mark the respect of my grandad who died in 2004. i phoned the london based office & the lady there was fantastic! Instead of pins, she is sending us 50 trolly tokens with a card explaining what the donation will go towards:

im glad we are doing something that will benefit other ppl. this is our thank you to the nurses who helped my grandad & my family through the worst time, they even had him laughing the day before he died which was a great comfort for us to see xx

The idea of charity items is a lovely one. We went to a wedding once where there wasn't a gift list, but they asked for cheques for a certain charity.

I'm one of those people who loves favours! I just think it's a really nice way of saying thank you to guests for coming. We're having hand made chocolates from www.polkadots.co.uk

We're having leaf shaped chocolates in a nice square blue box. They're also going to have tags on them so they'll double as place names.

I hope they don't all get eaten, I plan on taking some to the hotel in the evening!

We are having little boxes filled with retro sweets.

SG45 found this excellent site with the cheapest boxes found so far on the net

    http://www.thefavourstore.com/default.aspx

And then Laura_Lee suggested I put different sweets in each box, to give the guests a 'talking point' ("I've got cola bottles, what have you got?" "ooo foamy strawberries, not had these for years")

So we are choosing about 8 different types of retro sweets.

K, so you saw my innfo on this previously, but im having organza bags with 3 foil wrapped, choc hearts in each. they have personalised stickers on the back of each heart.

In total my favours have cost (70 bags and 200 hearts) aprox £40. All via ebay.

For the kids (only 3 attending so not so expensive to do) i bought a box from 'event smiles' i paid less than £20 and each child gets a personalised box, suited to their age with small toys and activities in them to ammuse during speaches etc.

That sounds like a fab idea! I've been considering seed strips but I may have to reconsider now hehe.

They may be pricey, but they're a brilliant idea! Do they ship to the UK? I'd be quite tempted if we don't spend too much budget on everything else!

For the ladies we are having white organza bags with pink foil covered heart chocs (from a chocolate factory in Wales) and then for the men we are having a small cellophane bag with Jesmona black bullets and white dragees in (the black and white to represent H2B coming from Newcastle). We managed to get the organza bags on buy one get one free from hobby craft so only cost £15 for 80 bags.

Not having favours as such, but we are having thistles as napkin tuck ins. I figured they could double up as favours if people wanted them as keepsakes. They cost 50p each and the florist said you could also use roses (or any other flower i suppose) although they do tend to wilt more quickly
