Favour Inspiration

KellyBrowning93, 11 March, 2014 at 19:29 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hi all,

I've been looking through bridal magazines, websites, pinterest and here but I can't find any favour ideas that I like.

I just wanted to ask all of you what you are doing for your favours to see if I can get a bit of inspiration!?

Thanks a lot ?

We're going with miniatures for ours.

We wanted something edible so would have been sweet jars, tablet, shortbread, cookies etc if we hadn't chose the alcohol Smiley smile

We are marrying on Easter Day so ... Easter eggs! But they aren't necessary if you can't think of something you really want to do. Just seemed to fit nicely into our day :-)

We're having a few different things!

Each person will get some personalised chocolates

    Kids are getting sweetie cones

Ladies are getting glittery lipstick sealers and samples from lush

    Men are getting aftershave favours

Older men (dad and a few uncles) are getting seeds

Older ladies are getting various teas

I am thinking of making some different fudge too, whisky for the men and vanilla for the ladies.

    Thanks for the advice everyone!

Miniatures sound like a great idea MM3 and Pugsley, can I ask where you're getting the from? Have had a quick look and can't really find anywhere. I know I've seen in the past some people make their own alcohol and then put them in DIY bottles which look quite sweet. Would have to check with the venue about them charging corkage fees for those though.

Easter Eggs sound amazing Barcagirl25! It's a shame we're not getting married around Easter, I've seen some favours as Lindt bunnies which are very sweet!

hisgirl, the lush sample favours sound really good! And I like the idea of seeds aswell

Tinkerbell love the flip flop idea, we were thinking of having a 'dancing shoes' basket with flip flops in but I don't think it would go with our venue... but definitely an awesome idea for getting married on the beach! I would love a beach wedding!

Thanks for all the ideas everyone... will definitely be looking at these as possible favours Smiley smile

We've done ours pretty cheaply but then needed less than 30 anyway. We're using some sweet little jars that my mum and dad had (the whole family are still eating the pate that is inside!) and filling them with unwrapped love hearts, topping them with a circle of patterned fabric then adding a tag (already had these from a pad of patterned paper) and some string/rafia/ribbon. The love hearts look really nice in the jars with all the chalky pastel colours and they're only costing about £15 (not including the jars). Not very original but fine for us!

We are planning to do Charity favours with something from each of our favourite charities that mean something to us, with either pin badges, trolley coins, or wristbands. Smiley smile

Our favours, for our severe budget! My friend and I are off to the local riverside to collect pebbles which we will then clean, polish and write on with sharpies, paint on a heart and put the name of the guest on the reverse. I'm writing a little thank you card which will go in with each one and put them in organza bags which my friend is donating as she has loads apparently!!! To be honest, I wasn't going to bother but I thought these were cute and as they're free, I don't care what people do with them afterwards ?

We had wine glass charms which I made for about 20p each using bits from ebay.

I would say that if you are giving something that is quite bulky, remember that most ladies tend to have smaller bags at weddings!!

I am making wine glass charms in our colour scheme with little silver lovehearts for the ladies, for the men though I'm stumped. H2B has a crazy idea of giving the men something related to the table name that they are sitting at, however I gave H2B the job of choosing the table names.....so if we go with his idea then the men will be getting a mix of football / wrestling / bryan adams / american football / kids cartoons as a favour!! YIKES!!!!
We are getting married the Saturday after Easter Sunday next year so I did think about some kind of easter egg treat as a favour but we are going to do that on the sweetie table instead.

    xx

I had thought about naming a table after our favouite bands and giving each guest (or couple) on of thier albums each. I'd still love to do it, but it would be over £5 each!
