Favourite telly

MrsShep, 15 December, 2014 at 18:51 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

Despite having sky, H and I watch very little telly as not a lot takes our fancy. Can the otters suggest anything worth watching, preferably that we can catch up on via catch up, or any channels to keep an eye on? Basically the only things we watch together at the moment are marvel agents of shield, and top gear which isn't even on at the moment!

The missing with James Nesbit! Was/is a great bbc drama. One more episode left to go and I really want to know what happened to the boy who went missing!

We've finally started watching Game of Thrones (DVD but I think it's on Sky box sets) and OH MY GOD IT IS AMAZING. Only tv show ever that h2b will allow us to watch more than one episode in a row... in fact we watched 5 episodes both last Saturday and the Saturday before!

I dunno if any of the things I like are on catch-up - I don't really use it other than the odd thing on iplayer. Lost, Mad Men, Six Feet Under, Prison Break, Dexter...or for comedy, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Happy Endings...other than that I just watch dull documentaries on BBC4 Smiley smile

We don't have sky and tend to watch a lot of comedy shows like big bang, How I met your mother, 8 out of 10 cats etc. We watch loads on netflix, I'm obssesed with House at the moment.

I'd definitely recommend Scorpion but not sure if it's on catch up.

We have just downloaded the walking dead on catch up - you can get all the seasons on demand so you can start from the beginning. Also I would look on catch up for any of the british dramas - Sherlock, Missing(though I don't think the first one is still available), Remember Me, Luther, Broadchurch. The BBC dramas only tend to have a few episodes so you can complete them fairly quickly.

I love any of the US crime stuff, NCIS, Criminal Intent, Law and Order but my OH isn't keen. Try Blacklist as well if you can get the first season on demand. We both really liked that one.

Not sure if any of this would be up your street, but OH and I love:
    Game Of Thrones
    Gotham
    The Flash
    Supernatural
(not sure if any of these are on catch up, but I think their on Netflix)

The Missing on BBC is really good, and the second series of Broadchurch starts on 5th Jan Smiley smile

    Walking Dead is awesome.

just for the record, I thought Remember Me was dog sh!t and Game of Thrones is the most overrated cr@p ever.

We have just started watching the Sherlock series with Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch!

I realise it was out ages ago, and you'll probably need to down load it from Sky on Demand, but I thinks really good!

Also, I really like Prison Break, and I have heard some great things about The Missing on BBC. We have downloaded them and plan to watch them over Christmas - i hear it has a really amazing twist at the end!

Sherlock and Luther are great, really good. I was just saying in another thread, The Fall is worth a watch too. Happy Valley on ITV was really good, we just got round to watching the DVD we got bought last Christmas, we watched some back to back episodes, thats how much we liked it :-D The first two series of Homeland were good, but Ive completely lost interest in this 3rd (or is it now the 4th one?) but OH is still really enjoying it...there's supposed to be really good dramas on Sky Living/Atlantic, we see the trailers sometimes but we're not organised enough to start watching and by the time a few episodes have passed it seems too much effort to catch up.
