Favours

Ali_G, 12 October, 2011 at 14:40 Posted on Planning 0 4

I've thought about this a lot and have finally decided on the following for our favours:

Wine glass charms which will double up as favours and

Homemade peppermint creams

The peppermint creams will already be in organza gift bags, but the wine glass charms will be on the wine glasses. So I thought I would write a little poem and attach it to the charms with some pretty blue ribbon. One one side, I will have the poem and on the other I will have "Alice & James" and then our wedding date. This is what I have come up with:

When all the plates are cleared & the speeches have been read
The first dance has been danced & the last tear has been shed
Please take home this wine charm; a gift from bride and groom
As a gift of our appreciation, it’s our way of thanking you.

What do you think??

The last line of your poem doesn't scan properly - it has too many syllables. That aside it's very sweet.

Personally I don't understand the point of wine charms, but if you like them then do it.

Know what Helenia means about the last line, it'd sound better if it said 'as a token of our love, it's our way of thanking you'

but that's kinda a strong statement to say 'love' IYKWIM!

    but that sort of thing.

Overall tho I really like it ?

Oooh yeah, I see what you mean.

    How about:

When all the plates are cleared & the speeches have been read
The first dance has been danced & the last tear has been shed
Please take home this wine charm; a gift from bride and groom
For joining in our special day, it’s our way of thanking you.

In reference to wedding favors information in online, from what I understand from other threads you give one per guest. A friend of mine told me that if it is a personal favor like chocolate, a little bottle of wine etc. You'll give one favor per guest no matter what the favor since you may have guests.
