I was considering not having favours but as a present a a family friend has offered to do me some cupcakes and i know they are not the usual wedding favour but i don't need them for my cake as this is already ordered so i thought i would have cupcakes as favours. I have already bought from a lindt shop choc hearts too so may either add them to our candy buffet or have these as the favours and the cupcakes on the sweetie table. Not sure yet. Sorry not much help really x

Up until last week I wasn't having favours, but i saw a picture somewhere of sweet favours in paper sweet bags which will fit nicely with my vintage theme.

Seen the sweet bags on eBay for next to nothing so plan on having those filled with various sweets. Cheap and cheerful! But hopefully not too cheap looking!?

So far we are having little pots of jam and putting a tag on them so that they double up as place names - won't be spending more than £20 on 70 of them Smiley smile

Our guests are having these in a little box together with a scratchcard and a little poem that says something about scratching the card with the lucky token etc...(haven't thought of the poem yet, its on the to do list) There will also be a chocolate truffle in the box too.

Anything hand-made/hand/baked can be very reasonably priced. I made flavoured chocolates. After fathers day/celebrations, shops often sell those enormous 1kg cadbury blocks really cheap. I melted the chocolate, then to different batches added nuts, cherries, coconut, biscuits etc. These then went into moulds. Some I bought from hobbycraft, others were shaped, silicone ice cube trays.

At the time, poundland had a special on, & I got bride/groom shaped favour boxes for 10p each! I got little stickers from vistaprint to put on the favours, thanking guests for being part of our special day.

Here are some ideas for home-cooked treats

Marshmallow, biscuits, flavoured oils/vinegar, chilli jam, fruit jam/jelly (can be very cheap if you can pick the fruit), rocky road, fudge etc.

I managed a poundland bargain today too - 80 favour boxes for £4!

We're either going to buy a big box of just married love hearts and pop a couple of those in the boxes, or ordering a load of grasmere gingerbread and puting it into the boxes... I do also like the idea of making your own chocolates BUT I would be scared of them melting?

Anyone know where to get coloured tin foil stuff for chocolates? Don't think i've seen them before!

I went back and forth and considered just about every option under the sun! We're doing illustrated magnets by a local artist. We're having two scenes so hopefully couples will end up with one of each. They're 1.85 each so pretty reasonable. And as 99.9% of our guests are not from here, we think it'll make a nice souvenir from their trip.

OH decided he also wanted something else so we're also doing personalised biscuits for a quid each. We've decided we'll just give the biscuits to the kids and not give them magnets too. I think it's a good idea as they'll enjoy the biscuits much more!

This was an area we didn't want to spend loads on but I still wanted to have so we are buying some red organza bags and filling with chocolate footballs (we are both big football fans but different teams) and then making tags with guests names and club crests on. Cheap and fun x

As it stands I'm going to do photograph coasters of each guest, I've taken funny photos of most of them off facebook. That doubles up as placecards.

I change my mind every week, though!

    Here is ours

We are also having cancer research favours with the pin badges. I felt like we have/are going to spend so much money it would be nice to help others.

We spent ages deciding but didnt want to spend a fortune. In the end we have done glass coasters with our theme as an image and our wedding date on it (our theme is peacock.) I already have a dremel engraving tool and bought 80 glass coasters from B&M for about £30. We have cleaned the image off the coaster with some thinners and then engraved it.

We will then present them in little card pouches with the reason for the peacock. We hoped that although we want everyone to take one, if the dont, parents get a set!

We have been round the houses with costing and this is the cheapest option so far. We are doing about 10 extra to allow for mistakes etc and the kids will have goody bags instead so will probably not need to do all of them at all.

Were having these, filled with either truffles or fudge. I'm going to stamp/print the words thank you on the front and tie the placecards on with a pretty ribbon.

We have decided that we are going to leave guests to do their own. We are going to buy some cellophane bags off ebay. get some stickers off vistaprint that have our wedding date and our names printed on them. Then we are going to make trip to makro to buy big boxes of haribo or something (not decided on sweets yet but the weddings in June 2013 so got a long time to think about it!) and then make a little sign telling everyone to make their own favours ?

We have bought little silver mirror compacts for the ladies and a pen and key ring gift set for the men.

We tried to pick things which could be used again. It took us absolutely ages to find something though.

My mum has said she will make little heart shaped almond cookies for everyone...luckily we don't anyone with nut allergies! They are super yum and so easy to make once you have a cookie cutter. Plus it makes your house smell lush. x

We're thinking of a Christmas tree decoration. The date we have in mind is 30th November 2013 so were thinking of having wooden snowflakes and putting a little charm dangling from it with our wedding date or something! We haven't decided totally but it's an option.

We're having candy canes as favours and tying personalised ribbon around them.

As our colour scheme is blue and silver we've gotton our local sweet shop to source blue and white striped canes (not an easy feat).

Think they're coming in at about £1 per head.

We are collecting Doug egberts jars, having some personalised stickers made for the front and top ribbon and tags around the top and filling with something. Not sure what yet, thinking maybe cookie mix and a cookie cutter, maybe sweets? maybe cake?! Toying with ideas at the moment
