...Favours...

jodie_174, 2 August, 2012 at 17:30 Posted on Planning 0 19

Hi,

We are getting married next year and are doing really well with planning at idea my H2B is even coming up with some cracking idea etc. However we are totally stuck when it comes to favours, we are trying to do the wedding on quite a budget without seriously cutting corners (if that makes sense). Has anybody got any creative/interesting ideas for wedding favours (our colour theme is cadbury purple...if that makes any difference.)

Ta Smiley smile

xx

Perhaps not the most imaginative but I got some miniature jars, filled them with traditional sweets (pips) and decorated the lids and put ribbons around them. I'm very proud of them Smiley smile

Do you NEED favours? This was the first think we cut when discussing budget...as a guest I'd prefer an extra bottle of win on the table....x

Theme is Cadbury purple i thought these would be the obvious idea-

Lots of other cadbury options too https://www.cadburygiftsdirect.co.uk/favourites/11-dairy-milk.aspx

You can get really good quality favours from lightinthebox, they take about a month to arrive, but they have alot of personalised stuff and we paid about £1 a favour. I have silver engraved flip flops and silver graved ships wheel compass's, very pleased with them - they also come in little boxes.

As a guest I always prefer an edible favour to a useless knick-knack. I melted down a 1kg block of cadburys & in different batches added either coconut, nuts, dried fruit, glace cherries etc then put into chocolate moulds. I also swirled in a white block for a marbled effect. You can get those enormous cadburys blocks on sale after fathers' day & at the factory outlet. I got free stickers from vistaprint thanking guests for being part of our special day.

Some other ideas include collecting jars/bottles from relatives or buying from charity shops. Wash & use for jam, chutney or infused oils/vinegars (chilli, garlic, rosemary etc). People won't notice if their jar isnt the exact same shape/size as someone elses.

Marshmallows, biscuits iced with the wedding date on them, fusge, rocky road or any other sweet.

If the theme is purple, what about seed packets of a purple flowering plant like lavender or bulbs for purple hyacinth or tulips?

Did you have to wait for them to be on offer? I've never seen stickers on the free offer, at least not in my emails.
