Favours

VHGT, 12 September, 2013 at 13:03 Posted on Planning 0 26

Hi All!

I am really stuck with no inspiration for favours!

Can you flash yours or give me some suggestions?

I really don't want to spend a lot of money on things that potentially could be left behind or binned!

Thanks x

I bought loads of mini jam jars and then bags of M&Ms on offer.

I'm filling the jars with the sweets and then writing a personalised message for every guest on a little brown kraft label.

We are having sweets in these bags as well - in purple stripes!

Great idea and cheap!! We are naming the tables after our favourite sweets and whatever the table is called is what you have in your sweet bag!

Some great ideas! I was thinking of a cupcake in a pretty box or sweeties/chocolates.

Would be nice to have something more original but the original exciting ideas don't come cheap!

I'm doing seeds wrapped in little fabric pouches. Enough supplies to make 100 cost me just over £15.00.

We did homemade jams and chutneys for adults. Jars of sweeties, homemade biscuits and popcorn for the kids. The kids ones were good as they tucked in whilst waiting for food or if they weren't keen on what was served.

I think we are just going to donate the favour money to Macmillan in memory of OH's mum; that way she's still part of it all x

    Don't have any.

You won't have to think of something, and you won't waste money...

That's a lovely idea, will look great, but I have to say I know we wouldn't keep something like that in our house. Just not us, and I know my family/extended family wouldn't either. We wouldn't drink out of something with our names and date on let alone someone else's! Do we sound terribly cold?!!

I agree, me and OH decided we aren't going to do favours. Always end up left behind unless it's food that can be eaten there and then.. And we are providing a beautiful 3 course meal, wedding cake and evening BBQ buffet, possibly some ice cream or something too at drink reception so don't think any more food is required!

We're having a candy cart with personalised bags. They have 'Take a treat, DebbiBunn & DebbiBunnOH 10th August 2014' on them. I went to my cousins wedding a few years ago and they had green golf balls for the men (gren BM dresses and grooms bits) and green butterfly hair clips for the girls. Another friend gave everyone a tulip bulb that grows back every year xx

Vintage China TeaCups- before it got popular.

People started doing jagerbombs from them about 4pm. It all went downhill from there.

    This my friend, is GENIUS.
I have to prewarn my venue about the need for more than the average amounts of both jaeger and sambucca...

We couldn't think of anything so we're giving people vouchers to use at the hotel's bar Smiley smile

I think they'll be more appreciated by our guests and we know they won't be left or discarded at the end of the night.

These were for me and my OH, but the guests all had them with their names on too:

We have a houserabbit that I absolutely adore. Everyone knows I'm a little rabbit crazy and that she is my furry baby! It was a cute way of having her acknowledged on the day. Not a single one was left behind, so they must've been enjoyed!

We were boring and did chocolates in a pretty box with a tag. They were our favourite chocolates though & were on sale - between the whole lot, they only cost about 20p each and, as we had 180 guests, we couldn't go too high on cost! The venue collected the ones that weren't used and we had chocolates for desert for a few days ?

A work friend today offered to make us cake pops for our favours as a wedding gift which is lovely! We are going to tie ribbon on and a tag and use them as place name holders as well
