favours

Natasha2016, 23 February, 2015 at 12:00 Posted on Planning 0 18

I am stuck on ideas for favours.
I did want to go with hot chocolate cone but then somebody said about people wanting to keep favours as a reminder?

What are you have as favours? Can you give me some inspiration please

These are our favours, they are little fridge magnet beetles (we are VW fanatics). They will be laid out on the tables like they are in the pic, black for men and ivory for ladies. Inside will be 6 mini eggs (not everyone likes sugared almonds) to represent our 6 year anniversary on the day we marry Smiley smile

The beetles will hopefully be taken home and put on our guests fridges as a reminder of our day Smiley smile

We had small boxes of heart shaped Scottish tablet, tied with tartan ribbon and a tag with our names and the date. Here's a pic:

I'm not too sure yet but we like the idea of personalised Love Hearts.

We are having different flavour fudge pieces (made by H2B's Mum) in a little bag for each guest as favours. As much as I think it's a lovely idea to give guests something they can keep, it's worth baring in mind that a some people will leave them at the venue - unfortunately I've seen this happen! If we get something edible at least we can eat whatevers left!

We're giving out quite a few favours in a sort of goodie bag for our guests! Very excited about the things we've chosen so far...

We're having biscuits from www.icemybiscuit.com, like these, but in our colours with our initials (obviously! hahaha!). The ampersand will be the specific one used in the logo of the fish and chip shop our reception is being held in! IMB specialise in gingerbread, but we're having one gingerbread, one lemon, one chocolate biccie per bag.

We've also got personalised Love Hearts but I haven't taken a photo of them yet!

Aaaand then a large handful of these personalised M&Ms, in little bags with our name and date on (from label amour- SO cheap)... This photo is extra special to me as we put it on Facebook to announce our engagement!!! (One of them says "I Do!") The others say Love, 29.07.15, Y loves H, H loves Y, and lastly a joke nickname we use which is our surnames mashed together!

    These: Luminessence Candles

Mr Ash has heaps of diabetics in his family so food stuff was out. I hate the wine stopper/key chain/etc. stuff that you get but you don't need or want. I thought that everybody likes candles - and these were made in Margaret River so it's a nod to where Mr Ash is from. Plus it goes with our Nantucket theme.

We're having little badges personalised with a poem and a badge for everyone. They eliminate the need for name/place cards too. I found them on Ebay for £1.20 each Smiley smile

Yeah the badges have their names on and so does the card. That was just a sample photo so not exactly the same but i love them haha.

On the card it says something like..

    'Please wear this badge

    we've had them made

    and think they're rather nice

    everyone will know your name

and it will help to break the ice.'

There's another 4 lines i think i just cant remember what they are ?

As OH likes to make mustard I'm thinking of us creating a recipe based on honey (benue has hives), whiskey (OH's tipple) and lavender (my fragrance/colour) and presenting in tiny hexagonal jars with a wooden bee on the top. As we're having cheese late on some of it might get eaten too, and if it gets left behind well, we'll take it as we love cheese and mustard.

    Everyone's a winner!

I always like something edible at a wedding. I've been to too many weddings where nick nak, trinket things are left on the tables.

I melted blocks of cadburys chocolate, then in batches added things like dried fruit, glace cherries, nuts etc and put into heart shaped moulds.

Other edible options you can make at home include:

    - flavoured oils or vinegars, basil, rosemary, garlic, chilli

    - iced gingerbread biscuits

    - flavoured fudges

    - chutneys, pickles, jellies or jams

    - toffee popcorn, toffee apples

    - peanut brittle, toasted marshmallows, turkish delight, honeycomb

My favours are very simple - a lottery ticket - sounds cheap I know! But there are table trivia games on the tables too, (I also had 10 kids to do party boxes for) and in the evening we have a photo booth so they get an instant pic as a reminder of the day.

I wasn't keen on the whole favour thing to be honest as at the last wedding I couldn't remember what the favour was after and the one before I left it behind!

We're going to have Breast Cancer Care ribbons for half the guests and MacMillan favours for the other half - in honour of one of my bridesmaids who was recently diagnosed, and who may or may not make it to the wedding...... It's something they can keep and I don't mind spending a bit extra per guest if I know it's going to a good cause!

I'm making my own limoncello (we're getting married in Italy) and bottling them into little miniature bottles with old-fashioned tags with our wedding date on Smiley smile
