Favours - Crackers?

Jill&Rusty, 5 September, 2009 at 21:59 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi all

I'm having a bit of a 'mare. I am getting married on 26th Nov and although our theme is US/UK (h2b is American) as its thanksgiving, the venue will all be decorated ready for Christmas with trees, garlands over the fireplaces etc. I was thinking of playing up the Christmas theme and having silver crackers as the favours with little gifts inside. What do you think? Cute or am I going completely crackers? Thanks. J

Go for it, we're getting married in 4 weeks (eek!) and we're having these little cute crackers from Cox & Cox, I'm putting ribbons on the end to go with our colours:

They have a snap, a little trinket thingy and a love quotation... I thought they'd be more interactive than normal favours (went to a wedding yesterday and they had about 5 chocs in lovely boxes with a ribbon wrapped around them which definitely would have cost more but the majority of our table didn't even touch, let alone open or eat!)

Thanks Beccy, They look great - I'll check them out. ? That's what I was thinking, about it being more interactive, especially as we have Americans over who are fascinated by our little English traditions.

4 weeks!! Are you panicking/excited/scared/all of the above?

Definately a good idea but if you are going for the ones with miniatures in them make sure your venue allows them as this was my idead until I was told no ☹️

Super, super excited... today... earlier in the week I had my first nervous notion... and also today had the "oh no, it's not long until it's all over"... have been getting excited during all the planning and now it's so close there's a wave of sadness that they'll be no more wedding planning.... not that I'm complaining or anything!! ?

I think the crackers are a fab idea.

Beccy - I've already thought about how i'm going to feel after all the planning is over and I've still got 7 months to go!!!! I'm sure once it happens you'll be happy for the break and relaxation.
