Favours - is this enough

Bowski, 3 October, 2011 at 14:52 Posted on Planning 0 24

I've said it is but OH has now put doubt in my mind, I do feel that if we add anything else it will just be for the sake of it.

I've got a bonfire toffee pan lolly with an indoor sparkler tied to it with burgundy ribbon these are both in an orange and white striped sweet bag with a thank you sicker on them.

Does that sound like enough (Our blessing is on bonfire night so I'm matching with the day)

I'll flash later if I can.

I think what you have is fab, although i have quite a bit in my bags they dont have loads of relevance you have put thought and effort into all of your day and as most on here will say a lot of people wont even care or notice i would be very happy with what you have done and wouldnt change it if i were you x

Our actual on the day favours are a couple of chocs in a box (hero's probably)

However for close family and out of town guests we've done little packs for their rooms with some local treats (I'm a Southerner and marrying a Yorkshireman in Yorkshire)

But I think your favours sound fab, there much better than Heroes ?

I think they sound really nice! Favours are a gesture, not the be all and end all ?

Yes more than enough, especially as it means something to your day.

We are paying £1-ish per favour as we are having cancer research pins in honor of my grandmother and OHs grandfather who both died of the illness and will be sorely missed on our day. I am printing a small card and attachin a bit of ribbon to match our theme and sticking the badge through, so it seems more like a favour rather than just a badge, and also lets us put a wee note saying why we chose this.

I would love your favour though, very unique also! x

It's not the value or the size of the favours, but the thought behind them that makes them special.

Your idea sounds perfect to me.

What a fantasic idea and a great day to get married! They sound perfect. I know couples spend a fortune on a favours which get left on the tables and forgotten. I love the theme, definately post some pics after so we can see. Have a great day. Laura X

Aecy - I'm a Southerner marrying a Yorkshireman but just a little bit over the border (North Derbyshire). Where abouts are you getting married?

I think they sound lovely - favours don't need to be expensive and extravagant - there's just no need! I'd be very pleased as a guest at your wedding.

Sounds lovely. Like Aj said, its the thought that counts and yours are definitely thoughtful. We're not having favours just because there isn't anything relevant we would want and we're not just shoving some almonds in a box for the sake of it. I don't think they'll be missed and if they are, well touch luck! They're getting a £50 meal each hahahaha!

I think they sound great, and more than enough. I'd be uber happy that I had been given a bonfire toffee lolly. But that's only because I absolutely love them ? Honestly, they will be fine.

I think your favours sound great - fun, quirky and relevant to the theme. We have decided not to have favours partly to save on the budget and partly because I'm not sure people really appreciate them - It really annoys me when people eat them before they have been served dinner! On a plus side a bonfire toffee lolly will keep everyone quite during the speeches.
