We're having favours for day guests and a sweet table for day/evening guests. The favours will be on the tables where people sit for the breakfast so won't be there in the evening when the other guests arrive.

I always assumed it was for day guests only, maybe that's just because they are normally on the table at the WB?

We're just having them for day guests as we're putting them in each place setting. I've never had them as an evening guest when I've been to weddings.

We had 60 "day" (wedding breakfast) guests and another 50 "evening" guests - we gave them out to everyone at the start of the evening celebrations.

I thought everyone got favours. Everyone we invite to share in any part of our day is special to us, whether they are invited to the close family/friends wedding breakfast or not is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

Ours were just charity pins which doubled as placecards, so we only gave them to day guests. At every wedding I've been to so far the favours have been on the tables and I don't think evening guests got them.

At the end of our day out of 115 people we found three left behind. One of those was from a guest that didn't turn up, and mine and my new wife's favours still sat on the top table because we hadn't been back to pick them up!

Normally yes although we did because we had the speeches during the evening and wanted everyone to be able to sit down and enjoy themselves without having to prop up the bar or go out into the garden.

You could always task a bridesmaid or usher to go round during the evening and make sure the evening guests have got theirs, if you wanted everyone to have them?

We are having charity pins for our day guests but considering making truffles or something for evening guests - I was at a wedding as an evening guest last year and we were all given favours - i thought it was a nice touch!

I always think its best to go for quality rather then quantity IMO and therefore we are doing a gift bag hamper (good quality Chocolates, Disaronno, champagne perfume/aftershave, toiletries, jam/chutney miniatures and mints) for each of our day guests and not bothering with the evening guests.

I would love to be able to do this for every guests but our budget doesn't allow and i think this would mean more to the day gifts rather then just doing a small box of chocolates for all guests for example.

That is one big favour! We're having lego people for the day guests and everyone getting their own personalised badge, we want everyone to be a part of it and the evening, not just an after-thought, so we thought would be a starting point and help those who don't know each other as well, plus for the day guests is doubling up as place setting. Smiley smile
