As we're having an xmas wedding we're having Roses (as in the chocs) in little organza bags. We didn't want to spend too much on favours as it seems so many of them are forgotten about

Our mums are making some jam, marmalade & honey and putting it in mini-jars. We're going to have one of each presented in a wooden gift box for each guest ?

I'm making all mine myself, with the help of my Mother in law.

For the men, I'm making jam. I've been collecting fruit; apples from Mother in law's trees and blackberries from my village and freezing them to store til we need to use them. I've got all of the jars ready and labels printed out to go on the jars too.

For the ladies, I'm making soap. I'm struggling to find the mould I would like to use. I want something either like a heart with 'XOXO' on it, or individual X and O shapes. They'll be scented with a plumberry scent I have and made in dusky pink then put inside a box with a tag saying "Hugs and kisses from Mr & Mrs xoxo".

    I think we've gone a bit OTT!

on the tables for the adults we are having little ivory favour boxes which my mum has decorated with snowflakes and ribbon to match our theme. They are being filled with chocolates our cake lady has made us i think they are filled with a liqueur ganache ( some cointreau some tia maria i think)

for the kids my mum again has made them all a small quilted stocking in ivory and gold which are filled with some small chocs and a few toy treats.

For the evening we have a sweet table so if anyone wants to they can make up a bag to take home if they don't want to eat them on the night.

We're having BHF charity pins, in memory of my step dad, with a little card to explain why.

For the kids, we're having a box filled with little sweets and toys. haven't given too much thought to these yet though so not sure what boxes we're having.

I've already bought my favours bags as they were a bargain at £6.99 for 100, we're going to fill them with sweets - possibly jelly beans, I've spotted some in ice cream flavours that have a light green and light pink colour which are my chosen wedding colours, so I thought they'd tie in and keep the costs down.

I am making personalised wine glass charms in our wedding theme colour of turquoise. I will have them on the glasses already when the tables are laid and put an organza bag with a little note explaining what they are and that they can use the bag to take them home at the end of the night.

I was googling for inspiration (think I will use initials or a little charm that represents them along with turquoise chips/beads) and found these for those of you with a button theme...

And these are fab for scrabble fans!

I know that I want to have some - but that's as far as I've got!

Some great ideas in this thread though - I'm loving the wine charms people have flashed.

Well... I started out not wanting favours - more expense and I've been to laods of weddings and can only remember the favours from one. (choc rabbits cos the bride and groom have house rabbits) Then I had a great idea of making origami canoes and having them on blue table runners and filling them with sweets as a sort of favour to share. Then I saw really cute mini lacey buckets which I could easily make out of blue paper and fill with sweets so kind of thought I could do canoes for the men and buckets for the ladies both of which would fit in with our water theme. But... really they will come down last on the list as it depends if we have money left over.

Those of you who know my plans are no doubt aware that I have a tendency to go a bit over the top sometimes - hence my invites. I am sure no one is surprised to hear that our favours are slightly OTT as well. So this is what we have in mind at the moment, although this is subject to constant change. I am making teacup and teapot white chocolates which are going to have pale pink sparkles on, I am making heart shaped shortbread biscuits, handmade soap, hand made bath bombs, pencils which have the date stamped on them tied up with ribbon and jam jars filled with all the ingredients to make cookies with cooking instructions on the lid. The idea is that there will be a table with them all on and then our guests both day and night take what they want. Like I said just a little OTT!

We're donating money to Marie Curie and giving our guests one of their daffodil pins attached to a card explaining that's what we've done.

We are having tiebetan silver heart charms (3 different designs) for ladies and stars for the guys, we are then attaching a old fashiond brown paper parcel tag to them with twine (hopefully itl b the shabby chic look) with peoples names on so they double up as name cards and on the back a little poem, they worked out about 20p each!!! and they are really lovely!

We are getting married at the end of October so I wanted something appropriate to the time of year.

    Currently thinking of either:

A few sparklers with a little matchbox, guests can either use them that night or take them home with them to use a week later on bonfire night. I'll definitely be using some to get some pretty nighttime shots outside though as soon as it gets dark (about 6ish).

    or ...

Homemade mini toffee apples. After a little research these look fairly easy, using a melon baller to get the tiny apple shape and lollipop sticks (think chuppa chup lolly stick size) to have as the stick. Maybe 3 of these in a little clear bag. Possibly three different types like a chocolate one with hundreds and thousands, a classic one, and another one?

But it is also the night the clocks go back an hour so I was wondering if there was anything I could do to fit that into the theme? Too many ideas.
