Favours - what are you having in yours?

claireac, 6 January, 2009 at 13:31 Posted on Planning 0 20

I'm after some inspiration really!

I've thought of chocolates, charity pins, seed sticks etc. What I'd really like is something a bit original (but will prob end up with chocolates!), I'd even quite to like to make them if I can only think of something!!

My colours are pink, silver and ivory and the wedding is in June if that helps.

Thanks.

C xx

I'm probably going for the charity option. Had thought it would be pins attached to the name cards, like pink ones for the women, blue for men etc. But I was looking & you can get some nice charity pens which cost as much as the pins...might b a good idea. I just want to make sure that most people actually take whatever it is even if the money does go to charity! ?

You could always do an organza bag with chocs in & a charity pin attached? The options are endless!!!x

We are giving people pebble paperweights with words on them such as love, peace, happiness, friendship.

Most people are coming in couples, so they will have 2 different ones.

You're welcome BonnieLass, aren't they the cutest pins and for such a good cause too! I just bought 60 for the ladies and ive told my h2b to choose a charity of his choice for the men. I think he wants to pick one who help children.

I love the charity pins - so sweet!

Pebbles sound great too. I hadn't thought of paperweights. Will have a google.

Ali I have memories of making chocolate rose leaves as a child. Great fun!! Am now wondering about making chocolates myself.............

Would really love to do something that I could make myself. Have thought about little cakes and biscuits but just not sure.

Can I ask a silly question? How will people know what they are? I really like the idea so just wondering if it is obvious as to what they are meant to do with them. I might be able to make them as I have clay and my pal makes stuff for art gallaries with the clay so she would fire them for me.

Well PG, if I was to recieve a pebble I'd prolly use it as a paperweight as suggested orrr i'd place it in the big wooden bowl of pebbles I keep on my coffee table, so i'm sure someone would find homes for them, I think you should do it as you're right, its a nice idea.

Me? Oh im giving away sixpences and airplanes....LOL.

We're not having traditional favours as such, we're having mini white pearlescent crackers with organza ribbon tied at each end - inside there's the snap thingy, a silver charm and a love quotation (no hats and jokes!). We'll also be having a couple of small bowls of foil covered chocolate balls on each table so people don't feel out done on the chocolate stakes!

We had silver boxes from the shop on this website with purple tissue and little white heart-shaped mints.

Couldn't find anything to go int hem for ages, found mints day before wedding and the were perfect. We decorated the boxes with 2 colours of ribbon. Only needed 40, so we were done in an hour. Thank you cards were seperate and we had hand made chocolates with a picture of us on it served with the coffee and in the evening. They were a real hit!
