Hi

Do many brides actually have favour bags? Do you plan on having them in your wedding ? If so what colours ?

What colour schemes are you having for your special day?

Any table centre pieces?

Sorry for the questions im just wondering what brides are going for these days especially with the credit crunch

Personally, I don't like them and am not having them. Nothing to do with the credit crunch but I think they're a waste of money and an American tradition which I don't think are needed.

Weddings i've been to that have had them have either been in a coloured organza bag or a box with the bride & grooms name and wedding date on,

I have got favour boxes from Kellys wedding world in 3 types, womens are a purse style, mens a tuxedo and a rectangle box for the children. Prices were good, 21p, 29p and 25p each. Having Thorntons champagne truffles inside, 2 per box and these were £23 per tray of 65 - 70. Need to get a roll of thin ribbon and use this to type up the female and childrens boxes.

I think im gonna get the organza bags off ebay. Im having choc coloured bags but they do loads of colours and are about £3.50 for 50. I will fill them with gold choc hearts or something similar - still looking at that one.

I'm hoping to have little clear rectangle boxes that I can put Floating Candles shaped like flowers in my colour scheme with Ribbons around the boxes. I'm finding it hard to get a decent looking candle that doesn't cost £2.00 per candle!! x

We are having favours, I know they're not to everyones taste, but I love them and have taken my favour home from every wedding I have been to.

We are having little chest boxes with handmade rum truffles for the ladies and minatures of whisky for the gents. I got ribbon printed with our name and wedding date on them and have put this round the boxes and the bottles x

    Hi ya

Out of all of my weddings this year we only had favours at three of them. I ask my clients what their priorities are and what they would prefer to spend their money on. More often than not they would prefer to spend the extra £100-£300 on something else, a better photography package, more wine or a tab behind the bar. Where we didn't have favours, no one missed them!!! They were all having such an amazing time and were enjoying the food, drink, atmosphere, music, company etc.

I have started to introduce 'favour tables' into my smaller weddings for next year though. At the beginning of the evening, I will be setting up a table with a selection of special chocolates, marshmellows, sweets, cigars (with a cutter) and bottles of spirits and liquers with glasses for people to help themselves to a drink and a treat. I've done this once before and it goes down soooooo well, people loved it. Doesn't work so well for the larger weddings though as you need more drink.

If you do decide to do favours I wouldn't spend any more than £1.50 -£2 per person.

I'm going to make wine charms with coloured beads on - hopefully shouldn't be too pricey will just take lots of time! Also something I don't mind keeping if they get left behind. The kids will get bags of stuff to keep them amused.

arhlec - this site has some lovely stuff! i especially love the champagne coloured favour boxes, in the treasure chest shape. it's a shame the wire is golden and not silver as my theme is cream and silver Smiley sad

I think we're going to do mini sweet jars for kids - confetti has some fun options.

for everyone else, i'm either getting a box or an embroidered organza pouch with satin lining. putting sugared almonds, truffles, sweets etc inside... we're having a pretty big wedding (200!!) so i can imagine that making them is going to take ages Smiley sad
