Feeding my evening guests!

Evening all Smiley smile

Would like to get your thoughts on catering numbers for the evening do. We are having 63 to the day for the whole wedding breakfast thing and have invited approx 100 additional people to join us at night for drinks and hog roast.

Obviously I don't expect the full 100 people to make it to the evening do, but with these numbers in mind (possible total of 160ish people) how many would you usually expect to cater for?

    I think the general rule of thumb is to cater for 2/3 of all guests. Are you not asking your evening guests to RSVP?

    I am asking them for RSVP's, but the invites are only going out this week and you know what people are like for replying, it'll be weeks before i know anything more accurate! Smiley smile

    I am just looking at my budget spreadsheet and trying to work out a rough cost for evening food... 2/3's sounds like a reasonable number for our budget, I'd hate to not have enough though, that's one of my main concerns! We attended an evening reception last year where we almost had to fight for a sausage muffin because the food was so sparse!! haha x

    Hi, to give you an idea when I had my evening reception we invited 100 people and they all RSVP yes. In the end we had 3 empty tables - so 30 didn't appear! So you have 163 in total? I would cater for 120 x

    We are also having a hog roast for the evening. We've been advised to cater for 2/3 of day guests & all of evening guests.

    Our caterers have advised to cater for 60% of the total number of guests for our evening buffet.
