Feeling a bit low today, worried about my mum just need to talk to someone.....

BrogstarBride, 22 March, 2013 at 12:24 Posted on Planning 0 9

I it isnt wedding related but I just need to write it all down as im feeling abit upset today Smiley sad

Im in full wedding mode and obviously really excited about the day as is my family including my mum. Last night she broke down in tears to me and said she hasnt been feeling well for a while and has the feeling something isnt right, and she has got it into her head that its something bad going on inside (She smokes and I think she is worried that it might be something bad because of that) she said she doesnt want to make a fuss but I could tell she was worried as she wouldnt have said anything else. I said she needed to go the doctors and tell them what she has told me and get checked out, and her answer was she doesnt want to go as she is too scared what they might say and she would rather not know, And she wants me to have a lovely wedding and nothing to spoil it.

Ive told her to go to the doctors today and she said shes going so I just hope she tells them everything and its all ok.

    Ahhh,

I am sorry to hear about this, you know it could even be as simple as that she is a little overwhelmed with everything that is going on and is feeling a bit stressed! She might just need a little course of Sunshine Pills to give her a little lift! Could be menopause, could be all kinds of things making her feel a bit off and the Doc is the best person to advise.

You know, almost nothing is that scary when you know what you are dealing with. And look at this way - what better motivation than a wedding for her to get herself back up to full fighting strength!

I should think the doc will book her in for a round of blood tests and wee-wee tests just as standard, so try not to worry about that if they do! They like to make a pin cushion of you, it gives them something to do :-)

Try not to worry, I am sure she will be absolutely fine. And it is so sweet of her to worry about spoiling your day, what a lovely Mummy you have!

Poor Lady, she sounds so scared. Perhaps offer to go to the Doctors with her? At least she has said something now so when it's nothing, she can relax on the day x

    Oh no, poor Mum.

Om sure it will be nothing, and if it is then at least she is getting help. Try to keep smiling.

I would definately try and get her to go the doctors. Its best to know if there is anything wrong and hopefully it isnt anything and then everyone can relax for the wedding and really have a good time rather than have a dark cloud hanging over you.

I was booked in to visit my wedding venue yesterday to pay the holding deposit and make my booking official but a few weeks ago my mum found a lump on her knee and the Dr was sending her for scans. The scan was booked for yesterday afternoon just before my appointment with the venue and I kept thinking if there is anything wrong I could never go ahead with the wedding in that situation. Luckily my mums scan was fine and so I went to my venue all churpy and happy and then when I got home found out my guineapig was really unwell and Ive had to have her put to sleep this morning ☹️ So now I'm happy about the wedding but sad at the same time.

Sometimes things just happen and its best to take everything in your stride and try not to worry or get too down about them. But definately go the doctors so atleast you know.

I really hope she's worrying about nothing. Sometimes the littlest symptom can be magnified by worrying about it and you can end up thinking every little twinge or headache is evidence that something is really wrong. Hopefully her doctor can do a few tests and reassure her.
