feeling de-motivated and not sure what planning I should be doing!

littleprincess30, 18 July, 2011 at 11:23 Posted on Planning 0 16

Anyone got to a point where all the planning just seems to have halted????

I feel like I cant do anymore than I have done right now and feel like I should be doing something!

our wedding is in august 2012, and we are off to see the registra next week, venue is booked, photographer has finally been decided (hard choice as my husband to be is a wedding photographer so he was very picky when choosing!), disco booked, save the dates ready to send out, (handmade). Dress chosen and now paid for, tiara, veil and shoes brought. flowers chosen and paid for. wedding reception decs sorted, and table decs.

now what???? maybe I am having a "wedding down" day.....just feel like I want to do more planning, but i cant as its too early!

where is everyone else at for their july/august/september 2012 weddings?

i know there is still lots to plan and sort, but i just feel everything else to plan i cant until next year!

I'm the same, I think they will be a few months where you have a bit of a lull.

We have all the major things booked, but I want to get our honeymoon booked and rings ordered and my h2b wants to wait.

Keep having fun looking on the internet and hopefully you will be back to wedding madness sooner rather than later.

It's the lull period where all the big stuff is done, but it's too early to do the little things.

    What about:

    chair covers

    your underwear and underskirt

    wedding insurance

    the cake

    the cars

    wedding rings

hotel room for the night of/night before the wedding

    hair and make up

Not having chair covers as we have gorgeous chairs at our venue, it would be a shame to cover them!

    underwear sorted and underskirt ordered!

not really having wedding insurance, looked into it, but for our own various reasons we are not bothering.

    the cake is ordered

cars we are using familys....nice shiny big new range rover sports!

rings are sorted, hotel rooms booked and hair and make up are done by a close friend who is a hairdresser!

phew.....anything else ladies i can be getting on with??

I remember having the same kind of lull with the planning of my first wedding. It's not happening this time though because two little boys steal all my spare time!

There's something you could do - you could babysit so I can do some wedding planning ?

A big 'me 3' on this. I'm July 2012 and nearly everything is booked now. Other than BM dresses and suits which require fittings a bit nearer to the time, I've not got much to do. I flick through the planning checklists at the back of magazines occasionally to be sure I'm not missing something, but other than that, I just keep an eye out for things I might want to consider re venue decorations/theming so that when the time comes to make final decisions I have some ideas!

Ooh an almost date twin! Hi ?

If you use the search function you will prob come up with a few lists of things to do, I know me and I think Lil Miss Red posted in the last few months about'what to do and plan next?'

It is frustrating, but just give yourself one job per fortnight/month if you can spread anything else out?

How about this month you see the registrar, next month you post the save the dates (which I did MONTHS ago I couldn't wait!)

Stationery, music choices, jewellery, bridesmaid/best man/usher/flower girl choices and readings, mock up invite wording, mock up table plan, gift for groom, parents, friends etc all spring to mind that I don't see in your first post HTH

I'm August 2012, and now I suddenly feel like I am way behind on all the planning! Venue is booked, deposit paid, registrar booked, notice of marriage will be done next month. Table centrepieces done and started making the invites. Have done the guest list, a rough table plan and choosen music for the ceremony.

I haven't stepped foot in a dress shop yet, haven't choosen bridesmaids dresses, shoes, flowers, rings etc.

I best get a wriggle on! haha! x

Oh just thought of something else - decide your something old, new, borrowed, blue.

Luckily when I hit a lull we were due to move house, then when all that died down a bit I went for a promotion...literally nothing else to do and now on school hols at the end of this week, properly back in the lull so next task is to get planning what to pack for my hols (still 3 weeks away but gotta keep busy!)

As pandora said I felt this way recently. Our wedding is next June. I'm buying little things each month like favour fillers and gifts.

am also experimenting to see what I can do myself. Name places, table plan, centre pieces etc

Wow you are organised! I am 16th August 2012 and only have my venue and dress so far. I also havent had much enthusiam this last few days, mainly because I cant find any bridesmaid dresses I like so im getting sick of looking.

I am going to wait a few weeks now before starting planning again!

I have the same problem... I really want to be doing something as wedding things cheer me up and I feel a bit stressed and ill, but I can't think of anything!

OP, Your wedding is 10 months after mine and I haven't done half of that!! Eeeek!

Wanna do my table plan? I have some truely impossible relatives...

Oh, and I hate shoe shopping, so anyone who wants to do that for me is welcome too!
