feeling faint

beckyakabetty, 27 April, 2009 at 12:54 Posted on Planning 0 3

I have been feeling really under the weather lately, nearly missed my hen night.... bit woozy, tired etc... two weeks til the wedding!!!

Anyway, i went to the doctor and he said im under weight, i have lost a stone in a month (and there was nothing of me to start with!!). I have strict instructions to eat more food. I thought i was quite good at not getting stressed, keeping on top of things and eating balanced diet etc but obviously i was wrong. Has anyone got any tips for.. putting on weight, keeping calm, chilling out?

I'd like to enjoy the next two weeks with no health worries if possible!!?

My doctor prescribed me with the nutritional juices and shakes that has high calorific contents, and they don't actually taste too bad. I'm surprised that he didn't suggest that if you're malnourished. Avocados, nuts etc, all carry high calories but are nutrtional - don't just binge on chocolate and junk food, they make you sluggish and it could play havoc with your skin.

Good advice, thats what i was worried about actually, i want to eat healthily so when he said i need to eat more i just thought.... im not hungry and i dont want to eat badly.

I work for the NHS and i know the price of those drinks- i wont get them on prescription but i might go and buy some myself. Avodcadoes are lovely so when im feeling better ill get some stuff like that (and maybe a chocolate cake to keep my dr happy!!)

How about some juices/smoothies? They're packed with good stuff and also have natural fruit sugars for energy.

Nuts and seeds are really good for you too.

    Hope you feel better soon!

Build Up and Complan are good for helping put some weight on as they have some of your daily requirements.

You could snack on pumpkin seeds inbetween meals even if your not hungry, they don't fill you up but are v high in protein so you won't feel guilty eating them ?
