Feeling really stressed!! What can I take?!

Sacred, 20 September, 2008 at 14:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Past few days, i've been feeling really irrationally angry/upset/down & listless. And I don't know exactly why!

I think my job (primary teacher -part time) is getting to me, as I've just returned to work but find myself with a full time teacher's workload. My 'days off', which are meant to be spent looking after my 16mth old, are spent planning and marking. My boss knows how I feel about it, but the only solution she came up with is that I take my PPA in school & lose half a day's pay. Which we can't afford to do.

My H is a police officer - I rarely see him due to shift work.

My daughter is wonderful, but like any 16mth old needs constant amusement. Which I love doing, but lately dont have the time to spare for her ☹️

I generally think I'm run down & very grotty. Feels like PMT x 100. I cant get a doc's appt. till end of next week & I'm on the Pill (So I can't take St. John's Wort).

So - my question is - is there anything effective I can go out & buy from a chemist right now which will help keep me calm, sane & happy???

Thanks all!

I have used Kalms twice for stress and found they helped, may well have been a placebo affect but it worked. Hope things improve soon for you ?

I second the 'Kalms' approach, along with Rescue Remedy drops, but more importantly, remind yourself that this stress is only temporary and make it a priority for you to have some time to yourself or to do something you like, even if the rest of the world seems to collapse around you ❤️

You have a legal, contractual right to 10% of your teaching load as PPA - if you are teaching 3 days, 0.3 days (just under half a day) should be PPA.

Saying that you will lose pay is a nonsense. She HAS to give it to you.

Contact your union for further advice and help.

    Thanks everyone.

My daughter and H are both sleeping & I have just woken from a 20 minute nap myself! Unheard of...

    Right- Kalms it is.

    And thanks again.
