Feeling very pleased with myself

Holly-Jayne, 12 November, 2011 at 11:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Just found a spider in our room and it was mahoooosive Smiley sad like ridiculously huge. I HATE spiders and am really stupidly scared of them Smiley sad but because the boy is at work all day I decided I had to do something about it as i would freak out if he couldnt find it later.

So i managed to grow some balls and put a glass over it - in my eyes I am now a hero lol! Boy will have to deal with it when hes home but I am very pleased with myself. I told my mate and she just laughed at me and called me a girl.

I don't care though! Just wanted to share Smiley smile

Well done! You are braver than I would have been! Best I can manage is 5 metres of hoover extension whilst swearing and sobbing!!

I don't like spiders, but have to get rid of them in our house, H screams like a girl when he sees one. I borrowed my sons plastic spider, but it right by Hs Xbox, the results were HILARIOUS!!

I was an absolute legend getting rid of that big spider for him ?

I'm the same - I can put a glass over them, but that's about it. That's better than I used to be though - I was house sitting for my brother a few years ago and there was a huge spider on one of the door frames (really huge!) - I got the hoover out and hoovered him up, but then I was so scared that he would come back out that I had to call my dad who had to drive 15 miles to come and empty the hoover for me. All the while I had to leave the hoover running as I thought if I turned the hoover off, Mr Spider would come to get me!

I'm terrified of ALL bugs.. Today alone I've been attacked by a money spider, ladybug and a butterfly! Smiley sad I got told by a 5 year old that I need to be brave. Terrifying!

When I was little my mum and big sisters used to make me rescue spiders. My dad was in the navy and would be away for long periods of time and they were all scared of them so they would send little me over to get them with the "glass and paper" method. Classic parenting.
