Fellow ample-chested Hitchers - has anyone tried these??

Snowby, 15 June, 2013 at 07:15 Posted on Planning 0 15

My search for a clear-back bra to wear under my lace-backed wedding dress is proving fruitless as nowhere seems to sell them past a DD - grrrrrrrr!

During yet another search, I've just stumbled across these (rather unfetching) contraptions:

https://underwearsolutions.com/Wardrobe-Solutions/D+-Perk-Ups/p-100-203/

While I carry on trying to get my head around how they actually work, I thought I'd see if any of you have ever tried them, or even heard of them before.

I think that for only £21, it's worth trying. I don't imagine they would be any less supportive than the normal strapless bras that I have tried (and I'm and F).

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks Mrs2014. I had seen that but really need something strapless too, or at least with clear straps. This is the back of my dress:

I really didn't think I'd have any trouble finding anything. I'm only a 34E so not massive! I have found a low back bustier by Ultimo that could do the job but it's out of stock everywhere.

Snowby, I tried this dress on - it was amazing. It got down to the final shortlist, but in the end went for another one. It fitted me really well and as a 32F I felt it really supported me and would have been happy to go without a bra. Are you sure you really need one?

I can't help but I'm having the same issue! My dress is completely backless (not even any lace) and I'm 30 F... I tried this thing called nu-bra from La Senza and it held up fine when I didn't move, but dancing (and sweating) it started to slide. It was only in size D so it was too small anyway.

In the past I have used braza bra stick on cups that were fairly good at keeping things 'perky' but didn't really give much shape, also were a bit hard to get off, and my skin was a bit sore the next day. Again I got them in size D, but they were definitely better than the nu-bra.

I'm a FF/G and there's no way I'd wear those! I'm not sure they'd give a nice shape at the front. What you might need is a backless adaptor to use with an ordinary multiway bra or an ordinary bra if you can get away with transparent bra straps. Or a backless bra (the straps cross very very low down and do up around your waist) but they don't tend to come in larger sizes. Google backless bra adaptor and see what you can find. If you can get away with transparent shoulder straps that might work.

I've used an adaptor before and I would say that is probably the way forward. I think my boobs would end up tucked into my knickers with these but I have the disadvantage not only of being an E cup but also having had 3 children!

    Snowby, I have this corset and I'm quite happy for you to buy it/borrow it as I'm not sure that I'm going to wear it now I'm having the back of my dress altered. It's this one;

The back sits very low. I'm a 34DD with 28" waist and it's a very flattering corset, let me know ?

Just a FYI...last year I was looking for a backless bra and I came across these. When I looked up the reviews they were horrible. People complained they were very hard to put on, no support and they gave the weirdest/unnatural shape on your chest

I will say I havent tried them myself, so I cant truly comment but I would look up reviews first

Oh and I will say, I ended up with one of the stick on bras but the one that has the adhesive wings on the sides and I found they did a good job, The one I bbought was from Victoria Secret so I cant comment on other brands although I do know Debenhams and John Lewis has them.

What style of dress do you have? I am 38F and they are building a tit-shelf into my dress to give the boys some support! Can you get a seamstress to do the same? I was warned against wearing a bra, etc. under the dress (even thought mine has straps) as it can impact on the fit / cut of the bodice, especially if it's already boned.

I think they work with a silicon grip above the boob and i think they only work because if you were smaller than a d they would slip around the boob until they just fell off. for this reason i suspect they would pinch like the crazy as they rely on enough support under the strap to hold the cup up. if that makes sense.

I'd try them as I would LOVE to wear backless dresses. but for a whole day i suspect OW! (I am a G/GG)

Thanks for your comments and suggestions everyone.

Thank you so much for the offer but I'm not sure a DD would be quite big enough, It does look great though. Seems they're only available to order from the US, is this what you did? How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? The cheapest I could seem to find was £75 including P&P.

I can second this as on Aly's advice I also bought one and will wear it under a BM's dress next weekend. My stomach has not been so flat since I was 12. I have small bazoongas though so cannot really comment on that part of things. Aly I am not going to wear mine either now as my dress has so much boning in it and now I have lost 2 stone I actually do not need it! Look forward to the support under my BM dress though. Showed it to some girls on a hen do the other week. They looked afraid of it ;-)
