FINALLY found a pic of my dress!

Skeptical78, 20 May, 2013 at 10:56 Posted on Planning 0 24

After fruitlessly searching for months trying to find a pic of my dress online other than the dodgy one I took in the shop of it on the hanger, I've FOUND one!!

It's still the short version, whereas mine's a tea length- not sure why it's looking so 'foofy' either (she's probably mid-twirl, it's a very twirly dress), but it's waylaid my dress wobbles. Now I can't wait til it comes in for my first fitting! ?

The tea length is lovely (although I'm probably biased now!). I completely and utterly didn't want a tea length dress, in a million years; when I put this one on I just bounced around laughing. You can't help but twirl around in it! And it's SO SPARKLY- the pics don't do it justice. Again- I didn't want bling, but this is just so cute. It makes you feel like a fairy! ?

Take pics when you try it on!! I'm desperate to see it on other 'real' brides, not models!

This is my dress too! I was searching online for pics and found this forum. I ordered the tea length version about 5 weeks ago and can't wait for it to come in.

Skeptical78 when did you order yours and how long did they say it would take to come? I've been told up to 6 months but so hoping it comes in a bit sooner, I can't wait to try it on in my size and in the tea length version as it was the ballerina length I tried in the shop. I tried lots of long lace dress's and they just didn't feel right, I tried the Bali and it was just me, I absolutely love it, and I agree it looks so much better than in any of the online pics.

I'm quite excited to have found someone with the same dress!

Forgot to add, the pic you have posted here is on Facebook, I came across it while searching through the photos on Romantica of Devon's Facebook page and there's a couple of other pics too.

Wowser! There she blows! You must be a better Facebook-searcherer (is that a thing?) than me! Still only short length though...harumph.

The pics you've found look nicer than the ones I've found! One of them was a rather....ahem....dumpy...lady wearing one and it made me have a dress wobble.

    Wobble solved now! ?

I think they said 6 months to me too, which is making me a bit nervous because I ordered it on the 2nd Feb so that would make it 2nd August or thereabouts- the wedding is on the 7th September! Not sure how long alterations take (think they might have to make quite a few- I've lost 2 stone since then!) but at least they won't have to take it up, I suppose...

I only found these pics as I'd "liked" Romantica of Devon's Facebook page so it popped up on my newsfeed. I can't find any tea length version pics of it anywhere though. In a way I'm glad as I quite like the idea of having a dress that doesn't seem very common, I originally thought I wanted a full length lace dress with a chapel train but they seem very popular so it will be nice to be a bit different.

I ordered mine on the 28th March, I can't wait to try it on in my size, and in the tea length, just hoping I do actually prefer it in the tea length! Our weddings the 28th March next year so plenty of time.

The tea length is great; the shop I went to only had the tea length- I was convinced that I didn't want a tea length dress, but having tried on some of the more traditional gowns it was definitely the right option for me. I can breathe / dance in it, for one! The long, sophisticated dresses made me stand funny.

The sample size I tried on was a 14- they've ordered me a 22 (!! - even at the time I tried it on I was a dress size 18 tops..stupid dress sizes..apparently I have an hourglass figure and it's my boobs' fault) I've now dropped at least one more dress size so I'm a 14-16 (prob an 18 in their sizing) so they're going to have to take it in quite a bit. The lady in the shop said that with some of the other designers my measurements would have made me a size 16 (so I'd be a size 12 now ?)- so I don't put much stead in them, to be honest.

The great thing about the tea length is that it doesn't jut out as much as the short version; it hangs nicer. You still get a full skirt, but it looks less like a tutu!

My second choice style to try after the full length lace ones was tea length but not many bridal shops near me stock them, or they just have a few so I was lucky the first shop I went to happened to have the Bali, I would never have wanted to try it going off the Romantica model pic. It's a shame there are no pics of the back of the dress as I think it's very pretty.

I was measuring an 8/10 when I tried it so have ordered the 8 as I've got some toning up to do, although I haven't done any of my planned exercise since it was ordered so hope I fit into it!
