fingerless gloves

May2012, 17 March, 2012 at 09:31 Posted on Planning 0 13

Hi, I am thinking of wearing fingerless gloves with my wedding dress as I like the look but I don`t know if they would be agood choice or just spoil the look of the dress. My dress is lace with liitle embellishments, Strapless, long with petticoat and scalloped hem. I will also wear a veil. I was thinking of fingerless up to elbow length gloves with lace. What do you think. I would be greatfuf for any advice. Thanks

Hi...I really can't see this working. From what you have described I think you may end up looking like a Michael Jackson/Little Bo Peep hybrid...

I mean, maybe a flash would help me to get a better picture, but at the moment I think it's a no from me!

I'm afraid I can't get past the image 80's Madonna Like a Virgin...

Something like this could look nice:

But I'd steer clear of this look:

Another eeek! from me I'm afraid. In my view it's a really dated look.

I must say if push came to shove, I prefer the short dainty lace gloves to the elbow length ones, but I just don't like it as a wedding look. I had a quick scout through google images and it's fairly cringeworthy.

Not a fan either, I think it makes hands look stumpy!

If it is something you really, really want to do though, I would go with the finest lace you can find.

Sorry, can`t get a photo attached but I think I gave you the wrong impression. The gloves I am thinking off are not entirely lacy. They are satin with embroidered parts and lace. In the photo they look very elegant. Thanks for all your opinions

Sorry, but I cant see the point as they'd get filthy, your dress sounds lacy & lovely on its own & it too just think of 80's madonna or gypsy ?. Even closed finger gloves have their problems.

If you have very slim arms, they could work. Anything larger, and where ever the glove ends, will be accentuated & personally, esp the longer gloves, its like having a big arrow pointy at the flabby, upper arm area! Sorry.

Thanks again for all the answers. The first photo from teal shows similar gloves to what I was thinking off but I think I will just let the dress speak for itself and have the vein but no gloves.
