Fireworks

Hollie1984, 2 November, 2011 at 16:50 Posted on Planning 0 13

Is anyone having or had fireworks at their wedding?

I would really like them but as the wedding in june, they would need to be quite late because of the light nights. What time Did you / are you having them?

I'd like to keep them as a surprise for the guests but dont want to ruin the atmosphere by stopping the disco etc and everyone having to go outside, so was thinking of having them at the end of the night if we can but dont want guests to go home before them either!

I'd love to have them, i doubt I will because of the cost but if I did I would have them at the end of the night, I would think most people would stay to the end wouldn't they??

Before you get too excited, check with your venue. Due to the location of our venue, we weren't allowed fireworks, chinese lanterns or anything similar.

It didn't matter too much to us because we didn't want them in the first place, but it might just be worth making sure you can actually have them before you start budgeting and setting your heart on them too much.

Ooh I'd love this, but they seem quite expensive. Has anyone got any good suppliers they can recommend that aren't extortionate?

Good luck in your search. I really, really want fireworks too but not sure we can afford them.

If you do it I'd wait until near the end, after last orders so people are finishing up anyway, in fact when they announce last orders you can also get them to tell everyone to make their way outside in say 30 minutes time?

I considered fireworks but I though the quote was a bit much- starting price of £1500 and could go up to double that. No choice in suppliers ether. Still, a very nice thought so might still consider. I am unsure as to what a reasonable price would be for fireworks?

Hollie, if you can have them, go for it!

We wanted them but in Northern Ireland you have to apply to the council for a licence to have them!! hope you get it sorted. i think it would be fab.

I would definitely check with venue and also the timings. We are getting married on NYE so can have them anytime up to 1am. I think any other night there is a time restriction of 10pm on fireworks.
