First attempt(s) at an Alice centrepiece - flash!

alabastamasta, 14 February, 2014 at 17:10 Posted on Planning 0 27

Hi everyone!

So I've been messing about with all the gubbins I've bought for my Alice theme - whaddya think? I think I may need to get a professional florist to do the cut flowers, and I have to plant the small ivy and primroses in sugar bowls and jugs - fun!

I saw something yesterday and thought of you. Hand painted cakes and there was an Alice one! https://www.facebook.com/people/Time-for-Tiffin/100050576885633/

These do look absolutely amazing, but if you are planning on stacking the tea cups up like that, you might want to bear in mind that they may get knocked over. Especially once the booze starts flowing, accidents do happen after all and you don't want to have to worry about clearing up broken china. I think it would look just as good with just one tea cup

Thanks HellsBells; I'm going to be sticking them, so they *should* be pretty stable, given the size of the bottom saucers Smiley smile

They look great, we have some photos on our blog from a recent kids mad hatters tea party, I was seriously impressed with the effort that was putting into decorating the tables. More than I'd seen for a kids party before. click here to see I don't know if I got photos of them, but she also had some of those necklace stands, like a miniature coat rack with necklaces hung from them, which I thought were pretty good.

On Thursday Baz was asked to DJ the launch party for @waterloo, the whole building has a Lewis Caroll theme with giant Alice legs as you walk in and each room individually decorated in line with the theme. It a really impressive space and I didn't get nearly enough pictures, but their sweet garden WOW

    Hi,

They look fantastic. My daughter also had this theme. It is so versaile. We had flamingo croquet, card suit bunting, a dormouse in a teapot, sangria for the toast in teapots, playing card invites, scroll save the dates, card character masks on the sweet table, a little guest dressed as alice, and large outdoor games. It is a fantastic theme!!

    Lynne

If you want any ideas or to talk to my daughter about how she di hers contact me
