First Dance

We're planning on having 'Let's Face the Music and Dance' if we do a first dance - although I starting more and more to think it's a bit of a bad idea and a bit OTT

We're having Mardy Bum as the second song to get everyone up (that's the real 'our' song).

We're having a barn dance so the band will be playing our first dance.

What we have planned is a very simple routine, led by the caller, which we'll do a few times through whilst the band play and everyone takes their photos. We'll then be calling up (they don't know this yet...) the parents, various family members, those in the bridal party and some of those who have helped our day come together, so they'll all get a chance of one or two goes through the routine with each of us, then possibly something for the four of us (circle or a star, if you know barn dance moves) before the ther two people split off and the next two people are called up.

Sounds complicated but it shouldn't be as long as nobody makes a fuss of being called up - but once it's been done once or twice everyone will be looking at them so hopefully they will just do what they're told

we first thought eva cassidy - song bird but then decided on adele - make you feel my love.

we met in unusual circumstances and if i could write down how i feel about hi h2b those are the words i would write. every time i hear it i well up so no doubt on the day will be crying happy tears.

We had Cat Stevens 'Thinking bout you' which I love as it's sweet and unique but was originally chosen as a joke because my name is now Cat Steven (note the lack of S - nobody cares and my name at work is now Yusef, hoping that it'll wear off!!!)

We don't have an 'our song' either so we have a blended together a few songs for our first dance. It starts with Jack Johnson - we're better together, bit of Frank Sinatra, beatles, beach boys, and a few others before finishing with the blues Brothers, everybody needs somebody to love. We're going to do a little routine and then in the last song pull other people up to dance so hopefully we end up with a full floor.

I have just been informed by my OH that we haven't decided on this! Men grrrr we have a few slow songs that are close to our hearts. The Sahnia Twain song is lovely but reminds me of my eldest friend.
