Im just wondering what you thoughts are on having 2 first dances a song each chosen by the bride and groom?

id think this woujld be a great idea each choosing a song that means something to dhow the other how they feel? But would ither guests appreciate it or would it be cheesy?

I think it would depend on the length of the tracks, the song my OH and I have chosen is ten minutes long so we're not going to play all of it, only around 4 minutes of it. If your's and your HTB's songs are both 3/4 mins long you'd be asking your guests to stand and watch for 6/8 minutes, will that feel OK for everyone? If the tracks are longer then they'll have to watch for longer, if that will be fine then it's an awesome idea. If you think it'll be a problem then maybe get your DJ to mix the tracks together so that the total length you're dancing is less.

    Just a thought. :-)

Or chose which on would be your say 'officiall' first dance and then a bit later get the DJ to play saying this song has been requested by the groom for his bride, or requested by the bride to her groom. Then dance to that also.

If you both want a song each then go for it.... it's your wedding!

We often have a father/dad dance then the first dance so no different really.

The only thing you do need to think about is song length I guess.

In my experience, most couples don't tough it out for the entire song. 3-4 minutes seems like 30-40 minutes if you're just shuffling. So two songs would double the time you're slowly shuffling for.

Most weddings I've covered, the couple get the DJ to request guests to join after around a minute.

So I'd agree with the suggestion of asking DJ to mix the songs.

We've got our first dance, & then I'm going to ask the DJ to play the second song as one I know OH holds very dear to his heart - but I am fully planning on getting everyone else to start shuffling with us from about one minute in!

If they're both quite short, I think it'd be fine!
