First dance lessons?

pinkpeonies, 5 December, 2010 at 17:00 Posted on Planning 0 6

I am a little worried about doing my first dance and so wondered has anyone had first dance lessons, if so can you give me any recommendations? Or thought about doing it? Do you think it is a good idea to give me a bit more confidence infront of everyone?

We are seriously considering doing this. It was H2B's idea as neither of us are particuarly looking forward to the first dance and wanted to do more than just an embarrassed shuffle around the dance floor.

Haven't looked at companies yet though.

We decided to have lessons with a local dance group, just to improve our confidence and love it. We are just going to do a slow foxtrot to 'Fly Me To The Moon', which we really enjoy!

It's turned into a hobby for us both, and even passed our first 'exam' a couple of months ago which was a test at basic foxtrot, waltz, cha cha cha and quick-step. We are very proud of ourselves ?

My h2b and I are having 1st dance lessons at our local dance school. Just the 2 of us and 1 instructor. My h2b was really nervous about the lessons but not as much as he was about the first dance, so it's been a really good dea. We'll look vaguely like we know what we are doing!

My friend is helping us out on this one. She's danced ever since she could walk and help lead a dance group so she's putting something together for us. I told her it can't be too complicated though as OH has two left feet.

Hey - we have been having dance lessons.

We used to be in a very very amateur group for beginners so just picked it up again. We are only doing a simple waltz around to some Nat King Cole. We were advised nothing too long (2.30ish) so people didn't get bored ? HTH

We're going to have lessons. Have seen a few sites where its about £250-£260 packages for five hourly lessons. They come to your house as well...so will be on home ground and less nervous. They show you a whole routine to do for which ever song you pick. They recommend starting about 8 weeks before the big even to give you time to practise on your own.

I have so many left feet its going to be awful...plus worried about the heels...but want to do more than shuffel around.
