First dance song

I think it's more important that the song is personal to you - I honestly wouldn't worry that not many will know it. I'm sure people will think it's nice to hear somehting a bit different as lots of people tend to have the likes of Ed Sheeran etc (not that there's anything wrong with that but his music appears to be a firm favourite as first dance for lots of couples!)

No I think it's far more special to have a less well know song that has a real meaning to you both, rather than whatever's in the charts at the mo. Go for it!

Thanks brides. I suppose I am a little more aware of it because it is one of my own songs, both written and recorded by myself and I don't want people to think it is a bit self-indulgent. It was my H2B's request that it be our first song and I agree with him entirely as it is 'our' song now.

So i kind of feel like chart songs ( as much as i love them)

come in and out of fashion but a song the means something to you and your H2B will last a lifetime.

Our song isnt one many people have heard of but the lyrics are very much "US"

so thats what we are having.

Go for what will mean the most to you on your day. My OH and I are avid fans of the Eurovision, have both been since childhood. 'Our song' is from Eurovision, not in English, but very personal to us.

We have already warned the guests to expect some Euro hits during the disco - the DJ doesn't know about it though! They might not like it, but screw them haha.
