First Dance songs..

Well, we'd decided that perhaps a first dance isn't for us...just the mere thought of it sends a chill down my spine...I don't do soppy displays of affection anywhere ever...lol..no I'm kidding, we just kinda figured that it wasn't really for us, and decided against it...but..loads of people have asked me what we're having as our first dance song, and have genuinely looked suprised when i've told them we're not bothering...so now I'm wondering if we should do, but with 9 days until the wedding I'm slightly panicking about what song to choose...which brings me to ask you all..

1) is there anyone not having a first dance?

2) for those who are..what songs have you chosen...please?

We are not really into dancing, but will be having -

Waiting For A Star To Fall, by Boy Meets Girl as our first dance song

We are in the same boat! Only have a lot longer to decide what to do.

Neither of us fancy dancing. Hate the idea of the cheesey dance routines that seem to be the 'in thing' to do, and the usual boring 'sway around the dancefloor' tradition.

However, when we have told people we're not going to have a first dance we have had a similar response. We 'must' have one, and the older generation looking rather disgusted!

We've discussed songs (incase we do dance) We don't have 'our' song, so going more for meaningful lyrics. So far we're thinking a long the lines of the following:-

Adele - Make you feel my love
Shania Twain - From this moment
Lonestar - Amazed

We're having a barn dance, they're doing our evening entertainment including first dance. We've had a CD to choose from, and have picked the tune of "Daisy Daisy", which of course everyone will know, to a dance called the Coolagh, which most people probably won't, but it's quite simple according to the video clip we were sent - and, of course, will have a caller telling us what to do.

Unconventional? Perhaps. Us? Definitely.

Apparently the "Coolagh" is fairly simple but effective dance, which needs a 32 bar waltz time melody to work - and Daisy Daisy is one of those apparently.

If all goes to plan, you should see the video of it in our report in about 10 weeks time.

We had about 20 that we wanted. We're having them all put on a cd for signing the register and quietly whilst the meal is on. Thin kwe are going to have You're the best thing-Style Council as 1st dance. Would've liked Beatles-In my life but it's not really one that you can dance to ?
