First flash and first problem!

adgabe, 31 December, 2013 at 10:29 Posted on Planning 0 11

We went engagement-ring-shopping yesterday and after having read many posts here about brides very excited to be collecting rings, I fully expected a loooong wait for re-sizing or ordering!

Went to about 5 different jewellers as I knew exaclty what I wanted. Nothing. Decided to go back ot the first, purely on a hunch, and not only did I finally found what I was looking for but they had it on my size! ? No wait!

I asked MOH to put it on my finger (Yeah! right?!) and he got down on one knee (again!) in the middle of the jewellers' shop and asked again. The staff were gasping and applauding! ? Why is there never a photographer around to get these things? ?

Here's the ring - The background is the tartan belonging to his family name. It was really weird to photograph my own ring! To see it properly, just click on the image!

The first problem?

He was looking at the registry office we want to book. They only hold 16 people for a ceremony! Very small town in the Scottish Highlands.

We have decided on a small wedding - Close family and friends and their partners, and need around 40-50 places.

Now to find a semi-decent venue which can do the same job...

If your getting married in Scotland there are a lot less restrictions on venues for weddings ... does it have to be w registry office? xx

Congratulations! If you are getting married up here then you dont have to do it in the registry office. If you can find a nice hotel up here that you like then you can have the ceremony there too. Where in Scotland are you looking to get married? Perhaps contact the local registrar and they can help guide you.

First and foremost, thank you all for your lovely comments! Thank you also for your help! ??

Magic182, we are getting married in Tain. The local registry office holds 16 people as it would appear they have *split* the room which held up to 40 people. Why-oh-why?!

MOH is now on a mission to find out more as it would also appear that the only hotel in town which is licensed to hold ceremonies is also the one he refuses to book!

We are up in Scotalnd in April and so we will personally make more enquiries. But it looks as though we may have to look further afield!

I mentioned a Humanist ceremony to MOH and he looked at me as though I said *How about the moon? The moon is a great venue!*?

I guess I shall have to Google it for him!
