*Flash* Finishing touches

Trish2014, 26 May, 2014 at 12:35 Posted on Planning 0 12

Well we're suddenly down to less than 4 weeks to go so thought I'd do a flash of my décor and DIY since we got quite a bit finished off yesterday! First off I'll flash the bought stuff:

We're having quite a small wedding so thought that a guest book might look a bit empty, so instead we've gone for a print like this and bought a Sharpie for guests to sign around the mount.

Letters for the cake table (probably!)

Onto the DIY - this is our card box/memento box:

Menu cards - there was a choice of meals for each course so I imagine that everyone will have forgotten what they picked already!

- We've also spray painted a variety of jars in gold paint/glitter. Some will be filled with flowers and the glittered ones will have a small candle inside.

Confetti cones ready to be filled and piled into a basket I've borrowed:

Favour jars:

and the hanger for my dress:

Starting to think that I might have gone a bit over the top! Hopefully there will be enough room on the tables ?

It all looks gorgeous, well done! Can i ask if you made the confetti cones? I am having a nightmare trying to make some, how did you do it so they look so nice?

Hi Shely - yes I made the cones. I just used a square of patterned paper, about 5 inches square and used a border cutter hole punch along two edges. The easiest way I found was to use double sided sticky tape - the sort where you put it on one side and then peel off the paper before sticking it together. That way it meant I could roll it into the cone shape and hold it into shape before peeling the backing off the sticky tape and sticking it together. Getting the right shape at the bottom took a bit of practice and I found it easiest to make a small crease to get it started.

All looks so pretty! I still need to decide on place cards, and was planning on reminding people what they'd chosen to eat too so I love your menu cards idea. Did you print them yourself or get them done professionally? They look really good! Are they 1/3rd A4 each? I just mocked some up in Word and printed them but my OH said they were too big. I then made them 1/8th A4 and he now says they just look rubbish and can't we just buy some Smiley sad

Thanks for the comments everyone ?

Yes, I just printed them myself from Word so they were easy and cheap! I split a Landscape page into three columns, so they're just slightly smaller then 1/3 A4. I think they should just slip nicely into a folded napkin.
