*Flash* Invitations and RSVP Cards ordered!

BumbleBrat, 28 December, 2010 at 01:47 Posted on Planning 0 21

After just losing my main job the week before Christmas I am trying to make cuts whilst I'm out of work so have gone with Vistaprint for my invitations (After seeing BlondeViki's awesome STD's - Hope you don't mind BV!) as they are the less expensive choice without making a mess of DIY invites lol.

Sorry about the blotted out bits, imagine they have info on them.. Have taken out surnames, location addresses etc.

I have upgraded the finish of them and have gone for "Linen finish".. Fingers crossed they look good when they arrive in a couple of weeks!

This is the "All day" Invitation:

Front -

Back -

This is the Evening Invitation:

Front -

Back -

And this is the RSVP Card:

Front -

Back -

We are hoping people will write us a message or doodle something for us as we will be keeping all RSVP cards for our Wedding Scrapbook and may (Depending on the response) display them on a washing line type thingy at the Evening reception.

Ah thanks! The wording took me hours to work out how I wanted it, especially the evening invitations as I wanted to make it clear that everyone would be having a meal without saying "You're having a meal, get here on time!"

20 Day invitations with colour back side, linen finish and envelopes - £13.47

50 Evening Invitations with colour back side, linen finish and envelopes - £22.47

70 RSVP Cards with colour back side and envelopes - £22.48

So £58.42 for the lot, which makes it 83p per Invitation pack (Invitation and RSVP card).

They are brilliant. I love your idea of having afternoon tea and then your meal later on. In fact, this is exactly what I want to do but OH isn't keen. I'm still working on him...

Hehe Snuggle-Bum, go for it Smiley laugh I got my inspiration from random searches I've done over the months when I found this display of RSVP cards -

Purple Pixie - Keep on at him ? We are having quite an intimate ceremony of 36 people including us so we're saving the 'wedding breakfast' complete with speeches, cake cutting etc until a bit later on when the rest of the guests arrive (Upto 160!)

Hey Nat! They look fab Smiley smile It's such a great design isn't it - works really well on any size/style of paper! I love what you have done with it. I might have my menus done on the 'tall' style cards too!

The linen finish is definitely worth it - I had a few done with and a few without, to see the difference and the linen finish has such a good quality feel to it. I think you'll be pleased Smiley smile

Um - hate to be the bringer of bad news, but you've got some of the wording repeated on this one .... have you actually ordered them? : ((( Sorry to post this on here but I couldn't 'contact' you directly as you only accept messages from friends on here ..... and I couldn't remember your email address to email you. Sorry : (

Hiya Viki, glad you weren't offended I stole your design lol, I love the simplicity of it, you wouldn't believe how many hours I've spent going through all the designs on there! Can't wait for them to arrive! Ooh good to hear the linen finish is worth it, after having the shiny finish for my original STD's (Which aren't being sent anymore lol!) I knew I def didn't want that again. I've ordered the RSVPs as just a 'matt finish' as wasn't sure how easy it would be to write/draw on them for people to reply.

SP - You'll have to spell it out to me cos I can't see a mistake lol, prob from looking too hard though ?

You've got "first meal and dance their first dance as husband and wife...."

And I've no idea why my post has so much white space on it!

    Oh!

    OK, maybe its me.

But I would have thought it should read

'their first meal and first dance as husband and wife'

    or

'their first meal and dance as husband and wife'

not 'their first meal and dance their first dance as husband and wife? Too many dances in there? Or at least a comma or brackets or something so it reads 'their first meal and dance (their first dance!) as husband and wife.

Or maybe its just the way my eye is reading it.

It's Dance their first dance.. as I have put "Enjoy their first meal" then "Dance their first dance" - The first "dance" being the action, as the "enjoy" part of the first bit is. Hope that makes sense, hard to describe lol!

    No its fine.

She means she wants the guests to join them as they dance their first dance.

Sounds strange because its not the way people talk in conversation, but i think it works in an invitation.
