Flash Me Your Veils

MrsToffee, 4 January, 2015 at 00:00 Posted on Planning 0 18

I'm feeling really unorganised as I'm now under 100 days to go (aarrghh!!) and I've been looking for accessories, I have no idea where to get a veil from, the shop my dress is from have very few veils but I think I want a fingertip length with just the one layer and maybe a bit of bling or lace trim (my dress is Amanda Wyatt- Mila). Flash me yours for inspiration please!!

I've mentioned this before but depending on what your after try Pink Margaret, she made my cathedral length veil and I love it, I've had a completely plain cut edge thing so not much to flash, but the tulle is lovely and fine and it sounds daft but i liked how she attached the comb, it's really well made. She can add sparkle diamanté bits but did say to me complicated lace edging wouldn't be possible, tho maybe something simpler...she also offered an exchange or refund if I wasn't satisfied, she was lovely and knowledgable, and it was a total bargain at £26 plus postage...I have her email if you'd like it ?

Here's mine. I got it from the wedding veil shop online. It was £48 and came in a couple of weeks. It's a two tier fingertip length with crystals and pearls round a scalloped edge. You can design your own on there. I didn't want anything too blingy as I didn't want it to take away from the dress. I would really recommend them :-)

That's lovely sara! Had a quick look on my phone at the website but on my laptop now so I'm going to have another look, what width was your veil?

Think I've heard of Pink Margaret before, is she on facebook?

I'm considering getting a cheapie one off ebay (they literally start from £2...insane!!) and customising myself (or getting my mum to help!) with crystals. All the ones I've seen that I like are so expensive and I'm struggling to justify lots of money for something I'll wear for 10 mins. Also you might get a good second hand one from ebay too?

I got mine from veils-direct and would highly recommend them.

Mine was a bespoke veil, finger tip length, two tiers and had dainty beads on the edge. It was about £65.

Id be very wary of the eBay ones which are coming up so cheap. If you buy one, as with dresses from china,

be prepared to lose the money and leave enough time to buy another one if it's a disappointment when it arrives.

Thanks all, my mum had mentioned about making me one ages ago but think it would have ended up being a bit tricky for her. I've ordered fabric samples from the wedding veil shop website to check colours but they seem really good so far!

Plain, ivory, 72inch 2 tier with fingertip edge... I sat wearing it eating wheetos on the morning it arrived! Smiley smile

It's now in a storage bag hanging at my Mum's house Smiley smile

This is mine. I couldn't take a picture in full length as my rooms are not big enough!! It's a 2T cathedral length 300inch. I brought it off ebay for £25. Just hope it goes with my dress now! And doesn't look cheap against my dress. I brought a veil for £1.99 off of ebay it wasn't that bad to be honest but it just didn't look as expensive as my dress so I sold it on a buy sell swap page and brought this instead.

Edit I hung it up in my living room instead. Bit worried after seeing it again it doesn't look that great. In the picture it looks ok but the quality is a bit naff.
