*flash* My venue is completely the opposite of what I wanted! =S

Hey guys

So... i thought I wanted i kind of barn type shabby chic wedding, very relaxed with lots of dainty little flowers in jars and bunting and all that jazz until i went to see this wedding venue.

I dont know why I went to see this venue as it was about 7K out of our budget but me and my mother went on down to have a nose.

I actually couldnt lift my jaw up off the gravel as we approached. And the inside is absolutely wonderful too!

AND THEN we were told how much it was. Seriously nearly died.

It was cheaper than having it in some of the complete dives that we had already looked at. AND it included, 40 day guests sit down meal (free flowing wine), +60 evening guests. A reputable TOG, a cake, invitations, a wedding bouquet + 2 bridesmaid and 2 buttenholes for the lads. And a fancy pants car.

All this to have it on a weekday.

But I wonder, was i purposely having a shabby chic kind of wedding becuase i thought it would be cheaper. At heart, im posh. and i know it. But I cant help noticing all the things that i love that just wouldnt go with this venue. It seems to be a lot easier to inject personality into a blank canvas... This already has such a strong charactor I wonder if its possible.

I thought maybe red would go... then i wondered onto themes. Red queen of hearts? which i had liked right before i even started looking for venues.

Is anyone else finding this soooo tough? im struggling to follow my own heart!!

What dya think? i'll flash the red queen of hearts save the dates i found too...

If they are supplying a reputable tog, do check that their style suits your pictorial aspirations rather than simply being the "house tog".....

    BTW, lovely looking venue. ?

Wow what a deal. love the save the dates so pretty. I like it. My wedding is vintage / shabby chic and not to do it or others down but lots are doing this type of thing. I'd go with it if you like it, chance to do something v individual and different! xx

Hahah! I know, right? Loving the queen of hearts stuff myself! I thought the rich red would go well with all the wooden panelling on the walls...

Anyway, ive already seen a lot of the TOG's work. they had 2 albums on site and ive googled... He seems pretty lovely. got some nice unusual shots as well as the classics.

Everything in the package can be upgraded.

Im going to ring tomorrow and go and have a nother look on wednesday and take my dates and poss book it. Smiley laughDDDDDDDD

im excited just thinking about it, which to me is saying its the right way to go!

This is gorgeous! And an amazing price. You're right that shabby chic and bunting won't really go, but I agree that a rich red would look lovely!
