******Flash****** Placename cards

porkchop, 24 April, 2012 at 07:46 Posted on Planning 0 17

Morning

Bit of a self-indulgent flash! For some reason I decided that it was a good idea to cross stitch all the placenames, I'm making good progress so I thought I'd see what you all thought. I've sewn 140 of the pink border design, now I'm sewing names as RSVP's come back, then I will stick them to pink card so they stand up. I started with Groom!!

Sorry its so huge!

    They are keeping me busy!

I'm hoping people will take them as a keepsake, at least I'll know who is guilty of leaving them behind! lol

    Lovely idea!

Good idea to do them as they come in - I think you'd have sore fingers if you waited and did them all at once! Smiley smile

lol It's keeping me away from the biscuits in the pre-wedding diet attempt!

And I just do them while watching TV, I can pretty much see the pattern in my sleep now!

Thanks for the lovely comments, just hope my guests appreciate the effort.

I would love to get one of these and would definitely keep it! They look great - I am seriously impressed by how much effort you're putting into them - it will take you ages no doubt, but will be worth it on the day.

Im an avid sewer and cross sticher and these are brilliant! Did you follow a pattern or design your own?

Did you buy everything yourself or was it in a kit

I designed it on some squared paper, you can print the right sized paper for the aida off the internet. Just bought the aida, thread and beads separately, and the card to stick to aswell. Way more expensive than buying and writing simple ones, but I've just bought what I needed as I've gone a long and not added it up! They take 30mins each to sew, and now I'm doing names each name takes another 15 mins. Have cut up all the card, and will stick all of them at once when they are all done!
