Flashes of my latest DIYs

Mrs Monkey, 5 April, 2013 at 20:16 Posted on Planning 0 8

Yes it's a self indulgent thread. I just finished my bouquets and wanted to share them. Plus I finished my invites the other day. You'll probably guess my colours are black and white (though the flowers are more ivory to go with my dress). Sorry the photos are bad quality!

Opinions on the flowers welcome - I can still change them.

My bridesmaids bouquet (it does have three white 'doinks' but you can't see one in this picture)

My bouquet

All three together

Took me 8 hours to make 8 invitations!! But well worth it Smiley smile

I made them myself using wire, beads and feathers. I saw this and just had to try it http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/feather-bouquetsflowers-tutorial#axzz2PcVPJWVy

It does take a lot of effort, but it's worth it. You can have any type of bead you want in the middle and any colour feather. I got my feathers off Amazon really cheap. This is what they looked like before I put them together (sitting in loo rolls to keep their shape)

    All lovely.

Please tell me that 'doinks' is the technical term.

    Thanks ladies Smiley smile

FTLOMB - I'm not entirely sure on the word 'doinks' but it's better then saying 'stripped coque feathers'!
